EnviroBed is a highly absorbent 95% dry matter cow bedding – the result of 10 years of development by EnviroSystems. It is manufactured by a special kiln-drying process applied to the wet-sludge produced by paper re-cycling mills and creates a stable and consistent livestock bedding for use in cubicles, on mats or mattresses. EnviroBed is 10 times more absorbent than straw and five times more absorbent than sawdust. This soft cubicle bedding has a fine texture and high absorbency and not only produces a comfortable, high-welfare and absorbent bedding, but also creates a clean and hygienic “lying” environment in which ammonia, urine and leaked milk are rapidly absorbed thus reducing cell counts and mastitis. As an animal bedding EnviroBed requires no additional lime applications and rapidly breaks down in slurry.
