BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DESIGN STYLE AND DESIGN INSPIRATION Scandinavian Rustic Style Home has become a sanctuary place for many of us especially in the midst of the pandemic period. Scandinavian Rustic Style is an ideal solution for the dwellers to feel safe and relaxed in their house as the crossover evokes feelings of peace and tranquility. For Scandinavian style, it has been in trend for many years due to its popularity of minimalism and functionalism. In contrast to the simple and clean Scandinavian style, the rustic decor style features more nature and vegetation elements which add strong and fresh colours to the styles. The combination of both functional and rural simplicity hence enhances the homely vibes, brings a sense of belongings and protection to the house. In terms of colour palettes, white is used as the base colour of Scandinavian style which brings luminosity and it also serves as a great base to mix with other colours. For the second layer, grey and green are used to add different hues of colours to the spaces. Pastel colour such as yellow is applied on decorations and accessories. For materials wise, wood is one of the basic elements in Scandinavian Rustic and it is widely used in furniture and small details. In the case of the bedrooms, wood material is extended to the floors, and furniture such as wardrobes and cabinets is lined with wood up to ceiling height. Other materials such as fabric moss green that can be seen in carpets, sofas, and bedsheets have given the desired Scandi touch as well. Furthermore, the best way to complete the rustic look of a Scandinavian-styled house is by adding plants. To cater to different types of plants ranging from outdoor to indoor types, spaces with well-ventilated and adequate amount of sunlight are needed, hence most of the greens that can be spotted in the house are normally bathed in the natural sunlight, forming a quiet and tranquil relaxing space for the dwellers.
