Ireland Pilgrimage September 12 - Depart USA Depart on your international overnight flight. September 13 – Arrive in Dublin On arrival at Dublin Airport meet with your driver and your English speaking guide. Transfer to your Hotel in Louth for dinner and overnight. September 14 – Newry, Downpatrick and Belfast Travel north today through the town of Newry to Downpatrick. Visit the Saul Church - the first church that St. Patrick established in Ireland. In Belfast visit the Titanic Museum, the world’s largest interactive Titanic exhibition located on the same grounds where the Titanic was built. Next, visit Down Cathedral which is best known as the burial site of St. Patrick. Visit the St. Patrick Centre in Downpatrick. The exhibition here uses state of the art interpretation that gives visitors a real understanding of the arrival and establishment of Christianity in Ireland. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. September 15 – Louth to Dublin Today we will travel to Dublin. En route, stop at the Bru na Boinne Visitor Center designed to present the archaeological heritage of the Boyne Valley, which includes the fascinating megalithic passage tombs of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. Continue to Newgrange and see the Megalithic Passage Tomb built around 3200 BC. Next, arrive in Dublin and enjoy a panoramic city tour. Take a walking tour of Trinity College. Founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592, it is the oldest college in Ireland. We’ll visit the Old Library here and see the Book of Kells, an ornately illustrated Bible produced by Celtic Monks around 800 AD. September 16 – Dublin & Wicklow Today you will depart Dublin and journey through Wicklow County, known as “the Garden of Ireland”. Visit Glendalough, a 6th century monastic site founded by St. Kevin. Visit Powerscourt house and Powerscourt Gardens, part of a large country manor built in the 1700’s. Return to your Dublin hotel for dinner and overnight. September 17 – Dublin to Kerry This morning depart Dublin for Kerry. En route visit Blarney Castle and Blarney Woolen Mills Shop. At the Castle of Blarney you will see the fabled Blarney Stone. Legend says that those who kiss the stone acquire the gift of eloquence. Continue to Kerry for dinner and overnight.

September 18 – Ring of Kerry & Muckross House & Gardens Delight in some of Ireland's most spectacular scenery as we travel around the Ring of Kerry. Leaving Killarney pass through Killorglin, famous for its Puck Fair, then to Glenbeigh where the cliff road affords panoramic views of the Dingle Peninsula and Dingle Bay. Continuing to Cahirciveen, you’ll pass the birthplace of our National hero, Daniel O’Connell. The road then continues through the mountains to Molls Gap and Ladies View with superb views of the famous Lakes of Killarney. To end the day, visit the 19th century Muckross House. Enjoy this magnificent Victorian mansion that is considered one of Ireland’s leading stately homes. Dinner and overnight will be in the Kerry area. September 19 – Kerry to Galway Travel through the enchanting Irish countryside to Bunratty Castle near the town of Limerick. Bunratty is Ireland’s most complete and authentic, elaborately furnished medieval castle. As you travel through the Burren Region, you arrive at the Cliffs of Moher with sheer cliffs dropping 600 feet to the water below. Continue to Galway via the Burren Region. The Burren is unique due to the Karst limestone pavements, which have been eroded to a distinctive pattern. This pavement is criss-crossed by cracks known as grykes in which grow a myriad of wild flora and under which are huge caves and rivers. The Burren contains dozens of megalithic tombs and Celtic crosses as well as a ruined Cistercian Abbey dating back to the 12th century. Dinner and overnight in the Galway area. September 20 – Galway to Dublin Visit Clonmacnoise. Dermot, a local prince, helped Ciaran build his first church on the site, and when Dermot was elected High King, he richly endowed the monastery. Clonmacnoise was a great center of learning. The heritage center contains early grave slabs and the three remaining High Crosses, replicas of which now stand in their original location. Continue on to Dublin and visit Malahide Castle, one of Ireland's oldest and most historic castles. The 100-hectare estate was founded in the 12th century and occupied by the Talbot family until 1976. The castle contains much of its original 16th Century furnishings, a minstrel’s gallery and a unique collection of Irish historical portraits. September 21 - Return Home Return home with an enriched faith and memories to last a lifetime.
