Welcome To

T

EPHRAIM

he picturesque Village of Ephraim is nestled along the sunset shores in the heart of the Door County peninsula. Settled in 1853 by Norwegian Moravians, Ephraim’s rich heritage has been carefully preserved over the years in more than 30 historical sites throughout the village. Visit these sites by jumping on the Ephraim tram or by taking a walking tour.

Much of Ephraim’s charm comes from its beautiful and accessible shoreline. Experience Eagle Harbor from a boat and enjoy the vast panoramic view of Peninsula State Park. With more than 3,700 acres, Peninsula is considered Wisconsin’s most complete park and forms Ephraim’s southern boundary. Ephraim offers a full range of lodging options, from modestly priced hotel rooms to stunning resorts, elegant B&Bs, and quaint cabins. Within walking distance of most accommodations are shops and galleries set in century-old barns, rustic log cabins, and vintage homes. A wide range of the unique items including clothing, jewelry, home décor, garden accessories, and fine art make for an unforgettable shopping experience. Complete your day with dinner at one of Ephraim’s incredible waterfront restaurants, and relax as you take in a truly memorable Door County sunset over the harbor. Ephraim looks forward to hosting you on your next Door County getaway!

Along the Waterfront...

E

phraim, with its stunning harbor view, claims the title as Door County’s Classic Waterfront Village. With beautiful sunny days giving way to dramatic sunsets, the water offers a perfect backdrop for a day spent throughout the village. Following Water Street (Hwy. 42) north through Ephraim, your first stop is the Wetlands Preserve. Head further north and you will find the Ephraim Public Beach, with rest rooms, plenty of parking and an abundance of sand. The newly renovated Firehouse Marina isn’t far up the road. This facility provides showers, public rest rooms, a public launch ramp and parking. Across the street is the Old Firehouse Museum. The original structure, built in 1934, was restored in 2008. Just a short walk away is Monument Park, marking the spot where Ephraim’s first settlers came ashore. Continue along the shoreline to South Shore Pier, where you’ll find an assortment of water sports and activities. Not far from the action is Village Hall Park, featuring an observation deck overlooking the water – perfect for sunset viewing! Another wonderful spot to take in the sunset is from the Ephraim Visitor Information Center, a building along the water full of character and charm. With brochures, literature, calendars and knowledgeable staff, Ephraim information abounds. The VIC will help make your Ephraim getaway unforgettable! Next-door is the Ephraim Yacht Club, a local landmark. The EYC has called Ephraim home for over 100 years and is open to the public and teaches adult and children’s sailing lessons in the summer. Next you’ll reach historic Anderson Dock & Store, celebrating more than 150 years! This iconic pier was a center of commerce in Ephraim for over 100 years. It now houses the Hardy Gallery and offers a spectacular spot for fishermen to drop a line. Continue on to North Ephraim, where you’ll find more shops, galleries, restaurants and lodging!
