DAILY REPORT 14th NOVEMBER. 2013

Global markets at a glance Asian share markets were set to bounce on Thursday after Federal Reserve Vice Chair Janet Yellen said the Fed has "more work to do" to help the economy, spurring U.S. stocks higher and putting the dollar on the defensive. European stocks dropped on Wednesday, with a broad benchmark hitting a three-week low, as uncertainty over the outlook for central banks' stimulus policies prompted investors to book recent hefty profits. The FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares lost 0.6 percent to 1,283.67 points, after hitting a three-week low earlier in the session. The euro zone's blue-chip Euro STOXX 50 index fell 0.5 percent to 3,021.17 points. Wall Street Update The U.S. stock futures hit a record high following Yellen's comments, which came after regular U.S. share market close on Wednesday. Both the Dow .DJI and the S&P 500 .SPX ended at record highs on Wednesday, after results from Macy's (M.N) eased some worries about the holiday season sales, boosting consumer discretionary shares. Previous day Roundup Indian shares fell for a seventh consecutive session on Wednesday to their lowest close in over a month as ratesensitive stocks declined after higher-than-expected retail inflation data raised fears of a third rate hike this year. The benchmark BSE index fell 0.43 percent, or 87.51 points, to end at 20,194.40, at its lowest close since Oct. 8 in a holiday-truncated week.
