Global markets at a glance The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 6.61 points or 0.04 percent, to 14,937.48, the S&P 500 .SPX gained 2 points or 0.12 percent, to 1,655.08 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC added 9.743 points or 0.27 percent, to 3,658.785. The strong data and expectations for the Fed's taper triggered a selloff in bonds, with the benchmark 10year Treasury yield brushing against 3 percent. Asian markets lowered as cautious sentiment prevailed ahead of the much-anticipated U.S. labor report, though most regional bourses looked set to end the week with solid gains. The Nikkei and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index are trading with a downward move by 1.10% & 0.05% respectively.

Wall Street Update The ECB's rate-setting board kept its key interest rate unchanged at the record low of 0.5% and announced no new stimulus measures. suggesting the bank's easy-money policies will stay in place as far as the eye can see.

Index stats Bank Nifty & Bankex both gained 9.30% & 9.46% respectively, while all the sectors also resulted upside closing in yesterday’s session; Consumer Durables [up 249.91pts], Oil & Gas [up 166.28pts] , PSU [up 228.10pts]. Metals [up 93.37pts], Capital Goods [up 243.27pts], FMCG [up 174.89pts], & Power [up 24.13pts] whereas negatively affected by market rally following indexes TECK [down 98.41pts], Healthcare [down 19.92 pts], IT [down 238.58pts] declined.
