Price Rite’s successful and ongoing growth strategy has led to an organization with over 60 stores across nine states in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions, a staff of over 5000 associates, and record sales of over $1 Billion.
BOUT PRICE RITE he first Price Rite store opened its doors in West Springfield, MA in 1995 as one of the earliest American deep-discount supermarkets. Since then, the company has grown into one of the most successful low price, customer value-driven grocery chains in the country, with more than 60 stores across nine states in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions. Price Rite’s mission is to offer its customers a “clean, fresh, and friendly” shopping experience and provide its customers with quality and variety of products on par with traditional supermarkets, oftentimes at 50% less on a daily basis. Operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corporation, the largest retailerowned cooperative in the United States, and in similar fashion to ShopRite, Price Rite takes advantage of Wakefern’s considerable buying power as well as its vast array of key fundamental support services. In addition, Price Rite builds significant cost-savings into their business model by limiting spending on ancillary items such as regular advertising and expensive store décor.

Neil Duffy President Neil is the President of PRRC, Inc. which operates as Price Rite Supermarkets. Neil joined Wakefern Food Corporation, the wholesale and distribution arm for both ShopRite and Price Rite Supermarkets in 1992 starting as a Senior Manager in the Bakery Division and progressing through the organization in numerous senior level management positions including Director of Food Service/Fresh Bake. Neil has also served on a variety of industry boards and advisory councils throughout his career including the Retail Baker’s Association, American Institute of Baking and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York
Jim Dorey Executive Vice President Jim joined Wakefern Food Corporation, the wholesale and distribution arm for both ShopRite and Price Rite Supermarkets in 2004, bringing with him more than 12 years of experience in Sales & Marketing in the NY/NJ Metro Region. Having progressed through the organization in numerous management positions, Jim currently serves as Executive Vice President and has bottom line accountability for sales, market share, gross profit, competitive pricing and maintaining Price Rite’s “Consumer Image” as well as store growth and real estate. Jim has served on various industry boards and advisory councils throughout his career including the National Frozen and Refrigerated Foods Association, Eastern Frosted Foods Association and International Council of Shopping Centers.
Bill Britton Director, Human Resources & Community/Government Relations Bill joined Wakefern Food Corporation in 1984 as a Corporate Recruiter in the Human Resources Division. He was promoted to the position of Manager, Staffing and Diversity in 1994 where he was responsible for corporate recruiting and diversity initiatives throughout the organization. Having been promoted through the ranks, Bill now serves as Director, Human Resources & Community/Government Relations and oversees all Human Resources initiatives in addition to Community Relations and Price Rite’s safety and compliance programs. He is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management.

Position Price Rite is seeking a creative and ambitious Human Resources Leader to join the company in a new role as the Director of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition & Engagement. cope of Accountabilities The Director of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and Engagement will report directly to the President, be an integral member of the Human Resource Leadership Team, and will develop, implement and communicate company-wide Human Resource initiatives that improve and enhance the overall effectiveness of the organization. This individual will be a member of the Price Rite Executive Team and play a vital role in designing and improving functional departmental and store-wide HR programs working collaboratively with the President and the Director of HR Administration /Community Relations. With touch points across the entire organization, s/he will further develop the framework, strategy and policies that support building the Price Rite brand and the internal management and associate talent pool that can drive a positive corporate culture while reinforcing the commitment to all associates, customers and communities.
Specific responsibilities will include: Act as a “hands on” strategic business advisor to the organization, providing leadership in the areas of retail recruitment and selection, onboarding, HR policies and procedures, training and development, team member engagement, and employee retention to increase employee engagement & commitment;
Work directly with the company’s Executive Leadership Team and President, Director of HR Administration /Community Relations to develop, implement, execute and communicate effective programs and processes to support and improve corporate and retail initiatives;
Lead the efforts in building, enhancing, and promoting the organization’s traditional and social media recruitment and branding throughout the region;
Take a proactive approach to employee relations and develop an active and consistent communication strategy for all employees, especially non-exempt.
Talent Management and Engagement Establish collaborative relationships and become a trusted and confidential advisor for all hourly and salaried associates; Collaboratively implement and coordinate corporate wide and regional/store specific initiatives, and promote developmental training programs that allow high potential employees to be prepared for further advancement; Implement and coordinate charitable organization fund raising support assuring that the company is well positioned as a contributing “Corporate Partner” in all of its communities and markets; Travel to Price Rite store locations on a regular basis to communicate with store management and associates, resolve any issues and enhance store success; Lead the performance, succession, and talent planning processes for the recruiting, training and development, and retail training staff.

Talent Acquisition Direct the recruitment, selection, onboarding and training and development activities for all new stores; In conjunction with the Director of HR Administration /Community Relations , direct new store “Grand Opening” activities including media relations, and government and community based organization participation for in-store and public grand opening events.
Human Resources Working closely with the Executive Team, HR Manager and Corporate Counsel, review, enhance, and administer all Human Resources policies and procedures; Consult with President and internal/external counsel on any work place performance issues to assure the consistency of all policies/procedures and business practices; With Director of HR Administration /Community Relations , manage and report on all HR programs and measurables including Associate Survey, diversity results/metrics, Human Resources audits and year end corporate accomplishments; With the Director of HR Administration /Community Relations, consult with internal/external legal counsel to assure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws; Oversee the company’s internal communications process and provide yearly presentations of business results , corporate accomplishments and new initiatives to all company associates; Serve as Price Rite’s liaison to Wakefern’s Human Resources Division and the Wakefern/Shop Rite Human Resources Operating Committee.

Professional Experience & Skills Required: Human Resource Management Minimum of 10 years progressive HR management experience, with significant experience in a senior role in implementing talent development and retention programs at the non exempt store level. Demonstrated functional responsibilities in training, compensation, benefits, staffing retention, diversity, HR policy, and performance management;
Large Company - Consumer Supermarket, or Retail Sector Preferred Larger multi unit supermarket, grocery, wholesale club, retail or consumer goods experience is strongly preferred. Consideration will be given to those that work in other types of consolidated entities; Legal/Compliance Experience in dealing with legal issues such as Unions, EEOC, Health and Safety, Labor Compliance Law and keeping track of relevant legislation; Managerial Scale Ability to manage a function and its people, and coordinate cross-enterprise projects, initiatives, and processes and lead across the organization; Education Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree in either Law, Human Resources/Organizational Development and/or Human Resource Certifications strongly preferred.
