Saturday the 25th of March 2023, our annual stallion show will take place from 14:00. The Stallion Show will also be broadcasted live on Clipmyhorse.tv.
FOREWORD
It is already 25 years ago that we started our stallion station here in Geesteren in 1998. And it is already 20 years ago since we organised our first stallion presentation in Geesteren in 2003.
Many stallions have been at stud here since then and are now foundation sires in lines of many breeders worldwide. Stallions like Voltaire, Burggraaf, Calvados, Canabis Z, Clinton, Cocktail, Concorde, Heartbreaker, Larino, Lord Z, Marius Claudius, Padinus, Spartacus, are popping up in the pedigrees of numerous international sporthorses.
In the meantime our current top stallions, i.e. Verdi, Eldorado van de Zeshoek, I’m Special de Muze, Johnson, Spielberg, Carambole, Denzel vt Meulenhof, Zambesi, Grandorado, Hernandez and Highway are famous for producing top sporthorses.
This year we will organize our stallion presentation on Saturday 25th March 2023 at 14:00 hrs at Geesteren Gld, so you can meet the stallions in person. You can also see this presentation through the livestream at clipmyhorse.tv.
We strive to offer breeders worldwide very interesting stallions, and for 2023 we have put together a wonderful collection of proven stallions, talented young stallions and coming stars, who meet our high standards. Our main goal remains to produce horses that can perform at the highest level.
Because it can sometimes be difficult for you as a breeder to choose a suitable stallion, we would like to help you with this without any obligation. You can send an email with as much information as possible, visit us with your mare or make an appointment for breeding advice on location.
For breeders that wish to send their mare for insemination to our stud, we have the veterinary service available from drs. Tamara van den Brink of DAP Berkelzicht BV.

Last year, Verdi and his rider Maikel van der Vleuten jumped three clear rounds during the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro! He already competed at the major championship; European Championships in Madrid 2011, Olympic Games in London 2012, European Championships in Herning 2013, World Equestrian Games in Caen 2014, and European Championship in Aachen 2015. Besides his own performances, Verdi’s pedigree is also outstanding. Sire Quidam de Revel is one of the most influential sires of the past decades and the same goes for Verdi’s legendary grandsire Landgraf I. Verdi was bred out of the famous Holsteiner damline 747a, which also produced Calato, VDL Bubalu, Vingino, and many more world-class showjumpers and stallions.
After dominating the showjumping sport for many years, Verdi is now one of the top sires worldwide.

I’M SPECIAL DE MUZE TN
The success philosophy of Joris de Brabander
In every way, I’m Special de Muze is unique. First of all his pedigree: sire Emerald has had countless victories with Harrie Smolders, including the World Cup of Washington in 2015, the Nations Cup of Falsterbo in 2015, and the Nations Cup of Aachen and Gijon in 2013.
I’m Special Muze’s dam Walnut de Muze has also won a lot all over the world, ridden by Harrie Smolders. Just think of Grand Prix and Nations Cup wins in Madrid, Dublin, Doha, Wellington, Mechelen, and Calgary. Ridden by Christophe Barbeau, Granddam Qerly Chin jumped the World Cup final in Milan and was a reserve for the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. Afterward, Qerly Chin turned out to be one of the best broodmares ever in Belgium.

The stallion from the Querly Chin line
CARAMBOLE
The newest KWPN ‘keur’ stallion
Carambole himself is a son of the foundation sire Cassini I, who already produced so many top stallions, such as Cumano, Berlin and Cabrio van de Heffinck. Carambole’s grandsire Concerto II brings in the valuable genes of Contender and great-grandsire Sir Shostakovich xx contributes some thoroughbred input.
Carambole is among the greats of his generation. In sport, the impressive stallion performed phenomenally with Willem Greve from a young age; his spectacular victory in the Grand Prix of Jumping Amsterdam will be remembered by many. But also his Grand Prix victories in Knokke, Drachten, Hardelot and Wierden were admirable, as were his performances in the Nations Cups of Rotterdam, La Baule, Falsterbo and Copenhagen. Once again in 2020, Carambole showed to belong to the world’s very best by finishing 4th in the Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard.
In breeding, Carambole convinces in every way. Many offspring are already jumping at top level, of which Hello Senator of Scott Brash is probably the best known. As a 7-year-old Hello Senator won bronze at the World Championships in Lanaken and later he became a world star with, among others, a victory in the Grand Prix of St. Tropez, second place in the Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva, and third place in the World Cup of Stuttgart.

Olympic genes!
Camargo has got excellent genetics and proved himself in sport at the highest level. This son of Olympic stallion Canturo is bred out of the brilliant For Pleasure daughter Fit For Fun. Ridden by the Philippaerts brothers and Luciana Diniz, Camargo himself jumped at the highest level as well. With Portugal’s Luciana Diniz, Camargo won the Grand Prix of Eschweiler as well as a CSI5* 1.60m class in Calgary, Spruce Meadows. Camargo also scored podium finishes at prestigious shows such as CHIO Aachen, Liège and Chantilly – both with Luciana Diniz and Olivier Philippaerts. Another of Camargo’s great performances was the 4th place in the Global Champions Tour of Shanghai.
Ridden by Brazil’s Bernardo Alves, sire Canturo jumped at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and stood out for his unlimited scope and fantastic way of jumping. In breeding, Canturo produced many Grand Prix showjumpers, such as Good Luck (Cian O’Connor), Zypria S (Willem Greve), Cristy (Marcus Ehning) and Can Ya Makan (Shane Breen). Camargo’s dam Fit For Fun was even more successful in sport. Ridden by Luciana Diniz, Fit For Fun was for years one of the best showjumpers in the world. With her incredible attitude and brilliant reflexes, Fit For Fun won the CSI5* Grand Prix competitions of Rotterdam, Doha, Sankt Gallen, Al Rayyan and Basel. In addition, she came second in the Rolex Grand Prix of Spruce Meadows in 2017 and in the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen in both 2017 and 2018. Furthermore, Fit For Fun competed at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the World Cup Final in Lyon in 2014 and the European Championships in Aachen and Gothenburg.
Besides the top performances of dam Fit For Fun, even more sport comes from the direct family of Camargo. For example, Fit For Fun’s full brother Flight of Ikarus also jumped at 1.60m level with Janne-Friederike Meyer and Justine Tebbel and half-brother Darco For Fun Z was approved by OS and Zangersheide. Camargo’s half-brothers Especial for Fun Z and Emotion for Fun Z raised record prices (>€100,000) at the Zangersheide Foal Auction.
With his two Olympic parents and his own achievements at the highest level, Camargo seems to have everything to develop into a valuable stallion in breeding. From a small number of coverings, Camargo has already two sons appointed by the KWPN and Oberlina TN managed to achieve a high score at the KWPN Mare Inspection last year. Besides, Oberlina TN became the auction highlight of the Team Nijhof Talent Sale.

JOHNSON TN
The best dressage sire in the world
Ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud, Glock’s Johnson TN has risen to be one of world’s best combinations in dressage. The son of Jazz is placed first on the FEI World Ranking, won the golden team medal and individual bronze at the European Championships in Aachen. “His outstanding attitude has made the greatest difference at the highest level. Even if he is almost unable to do something, Johnson will do it for you anyhow”, rider Hans Peter Minderhoud says about his number one horse. “When Johnson enters the ring, all people will sit up. He truly is a king!”
After the phenomenal performances of Johnson in Aachen last year, you could almost forget the bronze team medal at the World Equestrian Games in Caen. And of course the victories in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Spécial in Treffen, the second placings in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle in Rotterdam, et cetera.
As a sire, Johnson seems to walk in the footsteps of his sire Jazz and grandsire Flemmingh. Jazz himself performed at Grand Prix level and for many years has been among world’s best dressage sires on the WBFSH Sire Ranking. Through offspring like Krack C and Lingh, also Flemmingh has left its mark on today’s breeding of dressage horses.
World top of dressage sport

SPIELBERG TN
KWPN-recognized
Spielberg is a dressage stallion to dream of. His conformation is almost ideal and he is a true ‘Strahlemann’. Thanks to his great movements, he obtained as only one of the few Westphalian stallions the title ‘Prämie’ stallion. Sire Sunny Boy is an acclaimed son of Sandro Hit out of the Donnerhall-daughter Fantastica –the full sister of the legendary Don Schufro and Don Primero. Spielberg’s grandsire Rosier brings in the precious genes of Rubinstein I, who was bred out of the famous damline of Olympic champions Ahlerich, Rembrandt and Amon. Through dam Rosiera, Spielberg goes back to Rondula, who is also the granddam of the Grand Prix dressage horse Last Minute, ridden by Ilka-Kerstin Geiss.
Besides a great size, Spielberg adds a fantastic mind to today’s breeding of dressage horses. Thereby Spielberg has a lot of rhythm and balance in his movements. Spielberg was successful in higher-level dressage under the Dutch rider Joyce Lenaerts.

FONTAINE TN
The all-rounder with a genomic breeding value of 105
Fontaine’s sire Finest was declared premium stallion and has already claimed remarkable results in the young horse competitions. The Fürstenball son is also making progress as a progenitor of dressage horses, as the successes of his offspring at inspections, auctions and under the saddle are outstanding.
Finest turns out to be a champion maker and Fontaine TN carries also valuable genes from his damline. Both his dam Sky and granddam Gilette were declared Staatspremie-stute and Sky is a half-sister of the international Small Tour dressage horse Raptor 3 (by Rubin Royal) of Karen Böckmann. Damsire Samarant showed his qualities in the Small Tour under Andreas Helgstrand and has managed to be very valuable as a breeding stallion. The oldest descendants of this Sandro Hit son are performing on Grand Prix level. In the third generation, we meet the Graf Grannus-son Ginsberg, who sired the Grand Prix dressage horse Gringo of Sirpa Degerth-Kaldi. From this immediate family also descent approved stallions like Lividon GPF (s. Livaldon) and premium stallion Dream Maker (s. Damsey FRH).
The talented Fontaine TN is free of influential breeding stallions Jazz, Flemmingh, Gribaldi and is facing a great future for both sport and breeding. Not only in this context is this excellent Fontaine TN an asset, he also impresses with his qualities and appearance. His offspring fulfils the high hopes by their size, appearance and great movement. At the Oldenburg pre-approval, 2 Fontaine sons were appointed.
An asset due to its qualities and appearance
FLORIDA TN
The natural mover
Team Nijhof proudly presents the Oldenburg vice-champion Florida TN. This spectacular son of the promising For Dance moves like a dream. In trot, Florida TN moves with a fantastic posture, lots of balance, and a fantastic leg technique. In canter, he moves uphill with a lot of power and scope. On the lunge line, Florida TN impresses as well with his strength, tact, and striking use of the front and hind leg. Therefore, it was no surprise that Florida TN was named vice-champion of the Oldenburg stallion approval.
In addition to his talent for dressage, Florida has a highly interesting pedigree as well - especially for Dutch dressage breeding. Sire For Dance is a son of the proven Grand Prix stallion For Romance I and makes a great impression with his first offspring and with his performance in the young horse classes. In recent years, grandsire Blue Hors Zack has developed into one of the most influential dressage stallions of the moment, and Diamond Hit and Rubinstein I have made their mark in dressage breeding world-wide.
Florida’s great-granddam Guanita II is the full sister of the Grand Prix dressage horse Rubel, ridden by Belgium’s Fanny Verliefden. This line produced even more dressage successes, including the world-famous Grand Prix dressage horse Doktor. Ridden by Shelly Francis, Dokter was among the best dressage horses in the United States for years and nowadays, the Diamond Hit son is successfully ridden by Rebecca Waite. Other famous horses out of Florida’s family include the KWPN approved Team Nijhof stallion Sir Oldenburg, the Oldenburg approved Grand Prix stallion Grand Slam ridden by USA’s Mary Alice Malone and the Oldenburg and Mecklenburg approved Dargento.
Under saddle Florida TN shows the same qualities as during free movement. Florida TN’s foals were sold for high prices at foal auctions partly because of their spectacular appearance and very good movements. GENERAL CONDITIONS 2023
When you order fresh or frozen semen from SWS Nijhof B.V. the general terms and conditions of the Dutch ‘Bond van Hengstenhouderds’ 2023 in the Netherlands are applied.
Semen of our stallions can be ordered on a daily basis until 09.30. The order should include the name and life number of the mare and the full address of the mare-holder.
Before the first semen order, the full stud fee is due. Your invoice must be paid before we ship the semen to you. We will refund part 2 of the breeding fee when you send us the veterinary certificate of the barren mare. Non-pregnant mares must be reported before 1st October 2023 with a written statement from the veterinary and be sent by email or post.
For mares who are not in foal, a written not in foal-agreement issued by the veterinarian should be handed to Team Nijhof before October 1st 2023, or the full fee will automatically be charged. If the mare was in foal and it turns out that she is not pregnant after October 1. 2023, the credit can only be used the following year (2024) with the same stallion, unless otherwise agreed.
SWS Nijhof BV does not sell loose straws, only gestations (except for Heartbreaker and Clinton ICSI staws). You pay the studfee per gestation. Straws that have not been used remain in the possession of SWS Nijhof BV and need to be returned before the end of the breeding season, or can be used when paid for.
Frozen embryo’s obtained through fresh semen of frozen semen must be paid in the year of the semen delivery.
The breeding management of the mares is in the hands of veterinarian Tamara van den Brink from DAP Berkelzicht.
Mares are inseminated entirely at the cost and risk of the mare-holder.
The shipping costs and NVWA-costs for the Netherlands and abroad will be charged to the mare-holder.
For inseminations from stallions that stand at a stud station abroad/or own straw, an insemination- compensation will be charged.
In the event of late payment, the invoice amount will increase by fees and penalty interests and any collection costs.
By ordering and taking semen, the mare-holder declares to have knowledge of these general conditions and agrees with the insemination and payment conditions.
Stud station S.W.S. Nijhof B.V. in Geesteren accepts no liability whatsoever for damage, sickness, or injury to people, animals, transportation, or otherwise.
SWS Nijhof B.V. will not be liable for any shortcomings with regard to deliveries of semen, except in case of intent and recklessness. SWS Nijhof B.V. will carry out orders to the best of its knowledge and ability, however in the event of a late delivery or wrong shipment, SWS Nijhof B.V. will under no circumstances be liable for any form of damage resulting from this.
European EU-station: NL-8486: we have a certificate for shipping fresh and frozen semen from our stallions to countries outside of the Netherlands. Please take note that we have to inform the NVWA in time about the export.
Livery charges at SWS Nijhof BV are € 7,50, – (excl. VAT) per day per mare without a foal and € 10, – (excl. VAT) for a mare with a foal at foot.
The veterinary costs for palpation and scanning are € 100, – (excl. VAT and medicines and other actions), if you use a stallion from Team Nijhof. For other stallions, frozen semen or self-brought semen the veterinary costs for breeding management are € 350, – (excl VAT). The mares must be at least three years old to be inseminated
