0 1 . K U Z U B A Ğ W I N E RY -REFLECTION OF SITE-
This fabulous estate is surrounded by beautiful 360 degree panoramic and encircling vineyards. The soft topographic movement of the fields allows you to almost observe the entire property at once. The Produce and Visitor Centre were designed to integrate the whole area. We identified the various minerals found in and around the location site and the neighbouring area where we were able to utilise these natur a l e l e m e n t s s u c h a s s o i l - r o c k a n d w a t e r. T h e main theme was inspired by the various textures which were available in and around the area and we were able to make efficient use of the dynamic water movements. We worked with hard lines, imagining each and every contour of its topography as if shaped by these water channels.

‘Aqua’ is an amusement project that opposes the idea and notion of being enclosed in small spaces in and around the hotel area during short-stay breaks and instead presents an experience where the guests, particularly children, can spend their time enjoying the open a i r, m o s t n o t a b l y t h e M e d i t e r r a n e a n n a t u r e , sights and sounds. The client’s initial wish was for the design of that of a new aquapark to replace the existing one located around the hotel. The design approach was centred around the idea of “Aqua” instead of the kitsch images of an aquapark. With support from the client, the project area was extended from the adjacent area with large pine trees to that of the existing family pool area. type:

0 3 . V O YA G E T O R B A H O T E L -RECONCILING WITH THE TOWN-
The project is located in the torba town of bodrum. It is a town where tourism, construction, and unrelenting rent pressure are tangent at present. It consists of two-floors, mostly detached structures and a few boutique hotels. T h e b i g g e s t h o t e l i n t h e t o w n i s ‘ v o y a g e t o rex i s t i n g h o t e l b u i l d in g s

The design is mainly affected by local buildings. These have a range of open, semi-open and indoor plans schema due to the aegean and mediterranean climates. project was completed in two different phases over two years. The demolition process, rough construction landscaping, finalization of the last ground layers, and making them acceptable for the guests, which started with the end of construction bans, exactly took five and a half months for each phase for completion. We performed the construction management phase with numerous drawings and site visits. Preparing the plants to be visually suitable for guest reception in such a short time was one of our biggest challenges. type:

05.LAGOON BARUT LARA HOTEL The lara hotel is situated in antalya. The hotel possesses a range of exciting buildings as well as a swimming pool area. Upon its construction in the 1990s, this hotel possessed a range of modern and innovative buildings, as well as a medium sized swimming pool area. This area provided ample qualitative space throughout the 1990s.Our aim was to offer new and unique e x p e r i e n c e s t o t h e c u s t o m e r. O u r f r e s h d e s i g n enabled hotel users to fully embrace the new expanded water area. We created a plan to remove the old concrete flooring located around the existing pool areas. In our new design, each of the ground floor hotel rooms were now adjacent to the swimming pool areas, which therefore enabled the guest to walk directly from their room into the pool area. Located in the middle of the pool area is a newly created large ‘island’ public space for all hotel guests to take advantage of. Included here is a child ‘low depth’ pool as well as other necessary facilities and amenities such as mixed changing rooms, showers and sun loungers. All areas situated between individual buildings which were previously considered to be unusable can now be used for a common usage by all hotel guests.Located close to the pool, we designed a new bar experience for the guests,

3 The existing zone with family suites was replaced by the Lagoon area, the most important part of this design. This zone contrıbute a special character and unique conditions into the general design area. We developed a massive pool in which floating rooms and various-sized isles are placed. These islands, consisting of drainage channels and plant pots, are positioned towards the center of the pool. Moreover, the calculations of the drain channels, i.e. the required mass flow rates of the water, were made in collaboration with pool consultants, especially in this zone of the design. 1. lagoon area general view 2-7. view from lagoon villa 3-4. plant isles 5-6. lagoon alacarte way and stair 8. main route from the main building area

0 7 . Z O N G U L D A K C O A S TA L PA R K -PROJECT AREA 2-
In the mining area of the city of Zonguldak, situated within a port and located on the Black Sea coast. there has always been ample evidence o f f e r t i l e s o i l . H i s t o r i c a l l y, t h e p o r t a r e a w i t h i t s plentiful coal deposits is supported by railway infrastructure. The forestry and agricultural areas of the city remain fertile. The morphology of the city takes shape with the streams parallel to the railway and which flow into the Black Sea. Zonguldak Port, which has been primarily used for the transportation of coal for many years, had sadly altered and consequently became a deteriorated and spoilt area. The fact that this port, w h i c h p l a y e d a v i t a l r o l e i n h i s t o r y, w a s n o l o n g e r used by the public was the major indicator that the area needed urgent transformation. The role of this project was to reunite the people living in Zonguldak with that of the coastal area. type:

08.MASLAK SQUARE
‘Maslak Square’ project is an urban reference office project located in Maslak, Istanbul, with an A+ quality standard, a Green building certificate, c o n s i s t i n g o f a t o t a l c o n s t r u c t i o n a r e a o f 8 1 , 8 0 0 m2. The building adapts to the existing topograp h y. W i t h c o n t i n u o u s f u r t h e r d e v e l o p m e n t w i t h i n the region, it will strengthen its “central” position and contribute to city life as an urban object. The project landscape area and that of the passage area located within the middle of the two blocks are designed as public spaces. The key idea was to create an open and light spacial green environmental area on a human-scale that is integrated in its form and rhythm into the existing height and scale of the buildings. The landscape design was highly demanding, since most of it is built on the roof of the carpark. This demanded extremely careful planning and co-operation between the designers. type:

The Theatre building is open to all aspiring actors whether they are amateur and professional, and it provides an impor tant urban generator to all local inhabitants. This area is similar to that of a courtyard which connects the riverside to primar y and secondary roads. The interior of the building includes a seating area for up to 250 visitors/guests, accommodation, a workshop, a cafe as well as offering a variety of free activities for visitors. The design adapts to the existing design pattern and feeds off this.

1 0 . FA R M T O W E R The design looked at the role of architecture, specifically the transformation of 21st-century lifestyles, as we developed an increasingly localized urban structure which took place in ‘salı-pazarı’ t h a t w a s t h e n m o v e d t o a n o t h e r l o c a t i o n i n K a d ı k ö y. The area that was once a strategic transfer zone has now sadly become a large car parking area. This project was conceptual specialising in the research and production of agriculture. Applying the most conservative estimates to the current demographic trends, the human population will increase by approximately 3 billion people during the interim. An estimated 109 hectares of new land will be needed to grow sufficient food to feed the population if traditional farming practices c o n t i n u e a s t h e y a r e p r a c t i c e d t o d a y. A t p r e s e n t , throughout the world, over 80% of the land that is currently suitable for raising crops is in use. In Istanbul where green areas are gradually disa p p e a r i n g , t h e p r o j e c t ‘ Ve r t i c a l G a r d e n s ’ c r e a t e d t h e i r o w n e c o n o m y, b e y o n d j u s t a n e c o l o g i c a l v i e w. Greenery is found in and around the towers within the city and as such has ultimately spread into a vast urban area. The project has encouraged people to produce agricultural products.
