Eric Greitens, a Missouri native through and through, has deep roots in the heartland where he was born and raised, instilling in him the values of community and responsibility from an early age. His foundational education was completed within Missouri's public school system, grounding him in the principles of his home state. Upon completing his undergraduate studies at Duke University, His intellectual capabilities shone brightly, earning him the prestigious distinction of being selected as a Rhodes and Truman Scholar. These remarkable achievements paved the way for his academic journey to the University of Oxford, where he embarked on a path of scholarly pursuit that culminated in attaining a master's degree and a Ph.D. Eric's unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes found its creative expression in his work, "Strength and Compassion." This poignant collection of photographs and essays was born from his extensive experience as a humanitarian volunteer. His selfless endeavors took him to some of the world's most impoverished and war-torn corners, including Rwanda, Cambodia, and Bosnia, where he sought to alleviate suffering and bring hope to those in dire need. However, His sense of duty extended far beyond humanitarian work. He answered the call to serve as a United States Navy SEAL officer, embarking on four deployments during the Global War on Terrorism. His unyielding courage and dedication in the face of adversity earned him a distinguished array of military awards, including the revered Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star. In 2007, driven by his deep sense of duty, Eric Greitens utilized his combat pay from Iraq to establish The Mission Continues, where he currently serves as CEO. The Mission Continues empowers veterans to continue their service by inspiring and catalyzing positive change within communities across Amhea.
