5

Chapter Statistical Information

Membership

Chapter Membership

7

Chapter Financial Position

Immediate support is needed

Chapter Financial Position ď‚— We have zero cash in

the banks ď‚— We are in need of new leadership and funding to continue operations

9

Chapter Financial Position  To date I have been personally covering the

expenses for the chapter which cannot continue  Nor have I been in position to be effective as the President without leadership support.  We need board members and leaders.

10

Corporation Status

Corporation Status  The chapter formed in 2010 as the Orange County

Association of Real Estate Brokers  We have not completed our 501 c6  We are changing direction and moving our status from a 501 c6 to 501 c3  Reduce the burden of the state fees and to better position ourselves for community engagement as non profit Realtist organization

12

Sustainability

Sustainability  Building a Financially

Sustainable Chapter is our challenge  In my 4 years as President I have experienced the good, the bad and the ugly  We have tried fee based education but the competition with other well financed associations is too challenging 14

Sustainability  We have tried corporate sponsorships but the

expectations are too high. Especially when constantly being compared to NAHREP and AREAA  We have tried Mixers, Golf tournaments, Gala’s and they have never been profitable

15

Sustainability  Are there more things we can try? Of course there    

16

are We are not lacking ideas We are not lacking the Mission or Vision of NAREB We are lacking the grassroots connection with the community We are lacking the Movement!

Sustainability  We are lacking identity  We are lacking relevance  And we are lacking people who want to be leaders  We are lacking the movement!

17

Sustainability  Sustainability means Visibility  Who are we?  We are not on TV  We are not in the News  We are not known our own community  Where are we?  We are lacking the movement!

18

Sustainability  Where is the movement?  At the Church  We need to get back to the Church and start the

movement to homeownership!

19

Sustainability & Growth

Sustainability & Growth ď‚— Here is our strategy to achieve sustainability and

growth as a NAREB chapter: ď‚— Increase membership dues to a level that will make us

independent and not dependant on handouts from the financial sector ď‚— Not being dependant on the banks makes us better advocates for reforms in lending and banking to supports the needs of the community

21

Sustainability & Growth  Increase our brand in our communities by forming

real alliances with churches and non-profit organizations who need our expertise  We are a 67 year old institution and the real estate experts in the African American community  We are to Real Estate what the Civil Rights Movement is to the NAACP and we need to own it

22

Sustainability & Growth ď‚— Strengthen our value proposition as an

organization by being more engage with our members to understand the needs of their business and connect them with experts and leaders in NAREB who desire to serve as mentors

23

Sustainability & Growth ď‚— Invest our money and time in

technology, call centers, and other means to drive business opportunities to our members by serving and engaging the community ď‚— Be more selective on who we allow to join the organization

24

Sustainability & Growth  NAREB is not an organization you try out like a

club.  It is a movement that begin in 1947 that was a call to action to African American in a racist and segregated country. NAREB is an ad-vocation. It is not designation or certification.  It is the destination for Democracy in Housing in a never ending journey that finds itself in the rented homes of African Americans across the country who desire to achieve the dream of homeownership. 25

Sustainability & Growth ď‚— It is fraternity of serious real estate professionals

who understand our history as people and desire to work in the African American Community ď‚— NAREB and the Realtist Brand is not for everybody but it is for anybody who is committed to community service.

26

Changing Direction

27

Changing Direction  Community First – the profession of Real Estate

Second  NAREB started in churches in 1947. That is our history and foundation of what a Realtist is all about  Our focus has been on Real Estate Agent Education since the beginning of our chapter and in the process of meeting those needs we have neglected the community and our community leaders. This changes now. 28

Changing Direction ď‚— We are forming alliances

with churches and African American Nonprofit organizations ď‚— We want to be their official resource for any real estate related need in the community

29

Changing Direction ď‚— We are working with the OC NAACP, OC Black

Chamber, Black fraternities and Networking organization in the OC to be their resource for real estate information and assistance

30

Changing Direction  We are going online for

everything

 All of our meeting will be

accessible online and recorded  We will conduct online networking meeting for agents and the community to conduct business.  We will conduct online real estate marketing sessions to promote homeownership to the community and foster among Realtist 31
