The Inter Alumni Council is involved in many activities that provide support for UNCF. We are active in student recruitment for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's), UNCF fundraising, and UNCF advocacy to help ease the financial burdens of a college education for students. We also serve as role models, and stress the importance of education.

Aundrae Russell is the host of “Spread the Word”, the Stellar Award winning radio show on the legendary 102.3 KJLH in Los Angeles.He also is the host and producerof “The Aundrae Russell Show: Live from Los Angeles”,his new gospel radio show airing in various markets throughout the country. His passion for motivating and inspiring others through his words and life experiences, has led him into his role as a Motivational Speaker.

During his career he has worked as a Television Sportscaster and News Anchor, Radio Programmer, and D.J. He served as the half time voice and Music Coordinator for the Los Angeles Lakers for nine years, winningthree NBA Championship rings. Also an accomplished writer, he has written for various magazinesand newspapers across the country. During his career, Aundrae has interviewed renowned celebrities such as Denzel Washington, Halle Berry,Tyler Perry and NBA legendsMichael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Aundrae is a highly sought after Event Host and Master of Ceremony. CURT CURTIS SYMONDS

Mr. Curtis Symonds is an innovative and charism marketing pioneer. Curtis is also known by his peers in the business and entertainment community as one who gives his time and resources to engage, uplift and provide safe havens for youth to aspire and excel through sportsand educational programs.

Curtis is a former president of the T. Howard Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to promoting women and people of color in the satellite and telecommunications industry. He is the former COO, of the Washington Mystics WNBA Basketball franchise owned by co-founder of BET Networks Dr. Shelia Johnson.

Symonds is a recipient of the 1998 National Cable Television Association (NCTA) Vanguard Award for marketing excellence, the highest award for marketing in the cable industry. In 1997, Symonds was presented The Clyde Award for Marketing Excellence from Marketing Opportunities in Black Entertainment, and the Black United Fund’s prestigious “Walter Bremond” Achieving Against the Odds Award. After 35+ years of service, in the fall 2020, Curtis will be inducted into the “Cable and Broadcasting Hall of Fame”. The ultimate achievement of accomplishments with in the industry.

Named one of the 100 most influential people in the cable industry in 1998 by Cable Fax Magazine, Symonds served as the Executive Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Marketing for BET Holdings, Inc from 1988-2001 During his tenure at BET, Symonds also served as Executive Vice President of BET on Jazz from 1996-2001; President and COO of BET Action Pay Per View from 1992-2001; and President and COO BET International from 1992-2001. Prior to joining BET, Symonds spent five years (198388) at ESPN, Inc., working in the network’s Chicago office. A native of Bermuda, West Indies, Symonds is a graduate of the HBCU, Central State University in Xenia, Ohio.

Notable achievements: Under French’s leadership Clark Atlanta University has exponentially exceeded all fundraising records in the history of the university; maintained stable enrollment in the midst of global pandemic and developed corporate and community relationships to position the university for unprecedented growth.

His awards include Birmingham Spotlight Man of the Year, NAACP Man of the Year, and the Higher Education Leadership Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.
