INSERTING OF THE NEW INTO THE OLD 01

The project concerns the use of modern materials and techniques on an ancient villa, built starting from the Seventeenth Century. The restoration gives a triple use to the new building: forestry, restaurant and cultural centre.

Looking at the Oratorio facade from the street, visitors are anticipated on the transformations indoors, showing how the new one is inserted where the ancient one doesn’t exist anymore and the unexpected coexistence between the new and the old.

An elevated walk crosses the Oratory. The structure is made by burnished steel and glass, without compromising its historical and architectural value and giving a new identity to the restoration work. This place is located in a strategic position, between Padua and Venice, and it is easily accessible by car, bus or “burchiello”, a typical local boat.
