Silver Horizon (2004)
Eric Guinivan (b. 1984)
Duration: 5 Minutes
Silver Horizon Performance Notes • Although the piece is strictly metered throughout, it may be performed with a loose sense of rubato that approximately adheres to the timings indicated • Feathered beaming in measure 16 indicates a gradual accelerando over the time indicated. This accelerando should “blur” into the following boxed figure in measure 17. • Figures within boxes consist of six or eight notes that are to be repeated in random orders as fast as possible for the duration of the arrow following the box (hands should follow the stems as indicated). • Notes or musical lines performed outside of continued boxed figures should be clearly distinguished from the sonority being generated by the boxed figure and should leave as small of a gap in the musical texture as possible.
