Company Analysis

SÜN French for sound, produces audio equipment; Specialized in personal listening headphones. SÜN is dedicated to more then just listening but experiencing sound. The combination of modern design and innovative sound enhancing conical canals system and drivers produces headphones with superior quality and style. We believe that headphones that look great could also sound beautiful and yet be professional. Delivering world class sounds, with powerful drivers, meticulously scrutinized canal tuning that allows our headphones to produce disturbance free sound....Pure sound, how it is suppose to be. With years of development, SÜN headphones offers a line of headphones that are beautifully designed, professional studio tested by some of the greatest producers, comfortable with fine micro— airated form cups that reduces pressure and form fits any ears, and most importantly a pair of the best headphones that France could ever offer the World.

SÜN Analysis weakness — As a new company coming out of France with little to no historical background, it has to start from scratch in the public eye. Abstraction maybe too much for some people. Colors are orange, white, and grey, which might limit the coloration. May cause some confusion since the company starts with “s” and the logo is a “u” which represents a symbolic meaning about sound.

— Abstract and developed logo design. Simplified logo with few distractions, this can give the logo a more symbolic and hopefully Meta message. Can fit with more genres and styles since there are not preconceived styles.

strength

Beats Analysis weakness — The weakness about the design is the colors, I feel that because the colors are so limited to black and red that it would be hard to pair their products to many other styles. Really only targets towards a centralized style of music genre, which is mostly pop, rap, and hip–hop. The symbol I feel also is very simple and is too much of an icon, which makes it very literal. There is little abstraction, which doesn’t give the audience any room for interpretation, which will sometimes make a logo generic which is really unproffessional.

— the logo is very simple and because of that makes it very clean, with a distinct typeface that was made just for them. I think that the design is very sleek and clean cut and really works well with the design of their headphones. The background of the product also drives the success of the company very far and with a president and found with legendary musical heritage the company thrives greatly. Fluid logo design.

Signature Development

Signature Analysis: S ubjective

vs .

O bjective

Based on the visual explorations of objective vs subjective reasoning, one can improve their signature by having a signature that is more objective then it is subjective because one can believe that there should be room for people to interpretative and develop from a signature, but also putting into consideration that it shouldn’t be so abstract that it would confuse or frustrate the viewer. But there should be a little subjection so that there could be guidance for where the signature can take the viewer in terms of what the brand is about. The signature that has been developed is close to being where it to should be, there still needs a little more development to color and form so that there could be a balance between something more objective then subjective. The reason why you create a logo should be more objective, you can’t go around telling people, “I did this because I like the way it looks”, especial when the person has no idea who you are and what you stand for. If we take a look at beats, if Dre says he likes this and that’s why, he could however pass, knowing the fact that he is a musician with a lot of background. Objective reasoning will make you be more intelligent and give your brand a more professional and in some ways more reliable outlook to your customers.

Signature Development

The Signature SÜN Superior Sound Collective can’t emphasis enough what they represent and what they want to provide and their signature works to add another level of their brand that contributes to emphesis their superior quality in construction and most important sound. The signiture has 4 elements within that symbolize their company: the “Ü” which repesents their french origins, that also represents music which is indicated by the two tittles on each stem of the letter form. This letter form has also one other very important role, which is a tuning fork which symbolizes fine tuning, perfect sound, harmony, and everything that is amazing sound quality. The circle that forms around the letter form represents their construction, the circle represents the base of a cone, which is the construction which the inner canals of the ear cups are built around, this is their patented conical canal system that they have perfected only after years of research and development with sound acoustics engineers. Finally, the color orange which represent brightness, freshness; which symbolize the sound that their product produces, very bright and full body sound, with a freshness that only can be produced by the removal of disturbance, where absolutely pure sound can be translated.

This color system consists of 2 separate color palettes. Each of these palettes has been designed to reinforce specific emotive values associated with our products and services. The 2 palettes are extremely flexible, and can be applied in a variety of ways to unify families of materials, such as brochures. Try to use these suggested colors whenever possible. color reproduction

All colors specified throughout this manual are referred to as SÜN colors. SÜN colors are always reproduced by matching approved color swatches supplied by the Design & Print Services Group. Equivalent matches using other color—matching systems (e.g., Pantone® and CMYK) are given in the chart opposite. These equivalent specifications may need to be modified to adjust for production variations. The samples shown on these pages and throughout this manual are approximate matches for the actual SÜN colors. Do not use them for color proofing.
