WEEK 9 READING: PERSPECITVE AS SYMBOLIC FORM
Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? (Maximum 100 words) Perspective is a Latin word which means ‘seeing through’. Perspective projection is a planar, transparent intersection of all those rays that all from the ryr onto the object it sees.
Question 2: Describe homogenous space? (Maximum 100 words)
The ‘points’ which are joined in homogenous space make up the ultimate basis of the homogeneity of geometric space. Each single point inside homogenous space determin a position which in relation to other points around it. These points do not carry independent content of their own outside of the relation. Therefore, homogenous space is not given space, but space produced by construction.

OLD QUAD ISOMETRIC
Above is the old quad base. The whole story in isometric world is going to be spread onto the whole ground base. Each single period of time-space will take its own region.
4
OLD QUAD ISOMETRIC WITH NOTATIONS
Character Symbols are arranged in their regional area, reflecting different time-spaces taking place. Linemark for dark and light is polylines attracted by points, which ended up as a 2D-3D combined linework, aiming to form a wall shape. The geometrical size of character symbols matches directly with the amount of people. As well as the camera position are located 1600 in height.
5
QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 In this scene, there are six characters in all, which is quite a lot. Therefore, in perspective 1, colomns are located at two sides, providing relatively huge space in the centre to fit in more charaters. Moreover, the whole perspective scene is similar to a ‘corridor’, which gives help to create a sense of 3D space development.
In this view for perspective 2, the camera is located a bit lower than the target point, which gives a wide horizontal view. In this scene, characters are from three different time-space, which lies horizontally. Also, on the left there is a piece of area totally in shadow. This area is suitable for locating the group of people who are in black colour to show their unknown identity.
6
PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2
Perspective1: In this scene every single character is ever lasting, regardless of the whole changing envionment, this feature is the reason this perspective has been chosen. Another feature is that all roles are in pairs, so there are both regional story(between each pair of characters) and general plot(the whole view capture). It contains both light mood (nurse and stepdaughter) and heavy mood (the others). A trangular vault and two strips of curves were to show the space boundary
Perspective 2: In this perspective view, an extra character is created--the fortuneteller (the female on the right hand side). She is defined as a permanent role to provide another view of the whole city (apart from Maco Polo), but she literally knows what is going on. On the left hand side, the dark shadow is generated by the sunlight angle, which also matches the unknown identity of the group of people. There are mountains and clouds in the background to help to show a wider eyesight viewing.

WEEK 10 READING: MAPPING THE UNMAPPABLE: ON NOTATION
Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice? (Maximum 100 words) Autographic practice, the authenticity of which is based on the direct contact with its author, such as painting and sculpture. Allographic practice is capable to be produced without the direct intervention of the author. By means of notation, which works by means of tranposition, allographic arts is able to be reproducted at a distance from the author such as poetry and music. For muscial compsition, the authenticity is the internal structure of the work as set down in the score.
Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? (Maximum 100 words) The most significant new effect in the city are not registered as images. New urban phenomena are the consequense of technological and social changes but they reflect those changes only in indirect and mediated form. If the work of archtecture is more than coping with images, it needs to invent new tools to work more effectively within the immaterial network and systems. Nowadays city is a place where different types of factors act in a complex formation. New representational techniques are in need to map this complexity.

FINAL DRAWINGS
In the final perspective views, the sunlight and shadow are applied to match characters mood, for example, when the nurse consoles the daughter, there is sunshline lighting their place, which indicates a warm and relaxed atomosphere. Clouds and mountains are used as backgrounds to show the city is in a sky.
