It’s great to have ton of certifications and a master’s degree or doctorate, but if the market has no need for contractors with specialized skills then you should showcase your other useful skills more. Try to research on which skill is currently in demand then adjust your introduction letter and online profile to display that skill prominently Will you ever be ready for the offers that come your way? No, simply because you’ll never know what the client’s requirements are until you’ve been hired. Remember what I said earlier about the whole online work market being biased towards the buyers? Aside from the high level of competition, the fact that only the buyers really know what they need from a worker makes them very particular about who they choose and for good reasons too.
