For a long time I wanted to create a ‘Stitchee’. I had some pictures in my head, but could never find the right yarn. Than… Opal came with a new sockyarn called ‘Relief’. I knew that this was the right yarn for the project!! So…. I started designing and this is the result. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do! Materials: • 4/5 dpn of 2,5mm • Sock yarn Opal Reliëf • Alternative yarns: sockyarn, thin merinowool ór just a yarn you still have and didn’t have a project with. Just keep in mind that you might need some more yardage if you knit with a thicker thread. Ues 1 – 1,5mm smaller needles than is says. • Safety eyes 12mm of embroider the eyes • Darning needle • Toy filling Dit patroon is ontworpen door Erika de Niet-Winkels ©Stitchee Design 2018. Abbriviations and explanation: st(s) = stitch(es) k = knit p = purl c.o. = cast off tog = together r = round m1 = make 1 stitch: do this by knitting the thread between 2 stitches . (Here is a good explaining video) sl. = slip (=....) = The stitches at the end of the round. […, …] ...x = You’ll knit the stitches between the brackets for an ...x… amount of times. ssk = slip, slip, knit. Slip 2 stitches that knit them by putting your left needle in the front of the stitches from left the right. Then you’ll knit them. (see here a video) help thread = this is a yarn which has the same or a slightly thicker thickness of the workingthread in a contrasting colour. With this thread you’ll knit some stitches. Later you’ll pick them up again and than you’ll remove the helpthread. Working thread = the thread/yarn where you are knitting your softie with. All of the reliëfstitches can be found here as a pdf: http://sockenwolle.de/fileadmin/BENUTZERDATEN/Strickanleitungen/Relief/Relief_knitting_instr uctions.pdf Grafting stitches together: Here are some clear videos how to graft stitches together: https://www.garnstudio.com/video.php? id=60&lang=nl and this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7i5JwEReW0 You’ll start knitting at the bottom of the Stitchee. Please watch! Only the odd rounds are written down untill 21. The even rounds are knitted in a knit stitch. 01. Cast on 8 stitches and devide them over 4 needles. 03. [k1, m1, k1] 4x (=12) 05. At my sample I purled the coloured stitches, but it’s also great to use one or more different stitches. Let’s start by picking up the 6 stitches on every side of the help thread. If you’ve done that, pick one extra stitch on each side. Now you’ll have 8 stitches per needle. So in total we’ve got 16 stitches. Start to knit at the left side of the leg (seen from the Stitchee herself). I find it handy to put the stitches on 3 needles. 1 t/m 35: k16 36: Knit 1 stitch. Add this stitch to the right needle. Knit 6 stitches. You’ll add the last stitch of the needle to the left needle. 37: Turn, p6 38: Turn, k6 39: Turn, p6 40 t/m 43: Repeat the next two rows 38 and 39 twice. Pick 4 stitches up on both sides of the knitted piece. Together you’ll have 24 stitches. 44: k24 45: k6, k2tog, k14, ssk (=22) 46: k22 47: k6, k2tog, k12, ssk (=20) 48: k20 49: k6, k2tog, k10, ssk (=18) 50: k18 51: k6, k2tog, k8, ssk (=16) 52 t/m 57: k16 (6 rows) 58: k6, k2tog, k6, ssk (=14) 59: k14 Fill the leg with a little toyfilling and also the foot. 60: k6, k2tog, k4, ssk (=12) 61: [k1, k2tog] 4x (=8) You can add some toyfilling if you like. If you’re happy with the result graft the toe together. I’m curious of what your Stitchee will look like! Please show it on my facebookpage ór in my ravelrygroup?
