Innovative new material profile
novaform® 2300 The new fibre-reinforced rubber gasket.
novaform® 2300 is based on an ingenious raw material blend of highquality aramid fibres, special functional fillers and synthetic NBR. The new material combines the characteristics of fibre gaskets with the positive properties of elastomers, thus making it possible to produce a unique performance profile: •
• • • •
Excellent adaptability to unevenness at minimum surface pressure levels. Very low leakage levels even when surface pressure is extremely low. Stable long-term properties under the influence of temperature. Good resistance to media and ageing. Smooth processability and safe handling even with filigree gasket outlines.
Application areas • •
•
Sealing of the lids and housings for gear units, drives and pumps etc. Gaskets for easily deformed structural components made of sheet metal or plastic. Gaskets for non-rigid structures with large bolt intervals and thus minimum and inconsistent surface pressure distribution.
Good for people and the environment Frenzelit has obtained certification that the company complies with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001. This means complete transparency in all areas and therefore provides a high degree of security – for the benefit of our employees, the environment and our customers. If you have any application engineering questions, we will be delighted to answer them. Just contact: gaskets@frenzelit.de

Characteristic data of novaform® 2300 Media compatibility: novaform® 2300 can also be used in connection with oil, lubricant, grease, fuel, refrigerant or gas. It is considerably more resistant to chemicals and ageing than pure NBR. Recommended temperature range: -40°C to 130°C*) Recommended pressure range: max. about 50 bar – the product can be used in a high vacuum*) )
* The pressure and temperature limits indicated are influenced to a major extent not only by the characteristics of the material but also by the installation
conditions (the surface pressure level in particular). The information provided must therefore be considered an estimate that is on the safe side rather than a fixed application limit.

Special features
novaform® 2300 combines the advantages of rugged, durable and mechanically stable fibre gaskets with those of flexible, perfectly adaptable elastomer gaskets. The graph below compares the adaptability at a defined surface pressure level of a classic fibre gasket and novaform® 2300. Even at a low surface pressure level, novaform® 2300 is significantly more adaptable than a standard fibre gasket. The difference in performance increases steadily as the pressure level increases. A comparison of the leakage properties at an internal pressure level of 10 bar in relation to the surface pressure level shows that novaform® 2300 is substantially better than conventional fibre gaskets and almost reaches the excellent level of rubber gaskets (see the graph on the right).
