Welcome to Tung Chung Tung Chung is home to 100,000 and more people and is rapidly growing because Tung Chung is becoming an urban city in Lantau Island. With the convenient transportation from anywhere in Hong Kong by Airport buses, the only outlet mall in Hong Kong, Ngong Ping 360 and more, Tung Chung is becoming a must-go/ must-see district in Hong Kong. As a rapidly developing area, us locals are finding it hard to cope with the constantly rising numbers of visitors. We all need an escape.

Citygate Roof Garden A spaciously designed open roof garden. To seek for the roof area of Citygate climb up the gray stairs outside of the mall, next to a closed bridge (leading to Fu Tung). When you arrive there, there will be much empty space that you will manage to sit and rest just about anywhere. There are ledges, around the grass area where you could peacefully rest. Side note: 1. There are numbers of smokers who go there so be careful of ashes and cigarette butts. 2. As a private property, it will not be open after 10pm 3. There are security cameras and security officers walking around

Man Tung Road Public Park This is not your normal public park. For a public park, this place is quite hard to find, but very rewarding. Go outside of the main entrance of Novotel and go down the slope. To your left, you will be able to see a park with the typical playground however, this Side note: 1. Not a good idea to go here when it rains due to the lack of covered areas, 2.After school hours, there may be a lot of children around.
is not the best part. Behind it, awaits miniature hills covered in short green grass. There are benches areound the area separated from eachother. You willl be able to enjoy the calm atmosphere along with a nice view. How perfect is that?

Tung Chung New Development Ferry Pier Take a ride at Tung Chung’s only port. Previously, there was a ferry service here, but it went out of service due to lack of profits, but due to protests of regular costumers, they reserviced the pier with smaller and less ferries running.
We are able to easily travel to Tuen Mun, Peng Chau and Tai O with these services. (By the way, Peng Chau and Tai O are very local islands that are beautiful and are not crowded with tourists.)

Waterfront Road Bike Trails and Sunsets. The Tung Chung New Development Ferry Pier is actually stationed in Waterfront Road but it is more than just a road. It is a beautiful area with the most stunning view of the sunrise and sensets eachday. Although the structures were man made, the atmosphere of the whole area is nature. Listen to the waves move, feel the cool breeze and smell the sea. The whole area was made for resting.

Chek Lap Kok South Road How about a walk to one of the best airports in the world? If you walk up from the Waterfront Road near the bridge above you, there will be a walking trail (and a road) on a bridge. This is the Chek Lap Kok South Road. This is a walking trail I recently found. It takes quite long and there is a road right next to you for a while but after a few minutes of walking you can go to the well designed mini parks/resting areas. There are a lot of different routes to explore but if you are able to find the right one, you will be able to go to the seaside where you are able to see private jets parked behind the great scenery you are left to admire.

Ma Wan Chung Fishing Villiage Explore a modern village decended from the Tang Dynasty. Again, from the end of the Waterfront Road, you climb down the rocky slope until you see a small beach mostly filled with rocks. If you walk more, you will see an old fishing village. This village is a small and friendly village. The village’s architecture will stun you as their houses are fully supported by stilts standing in the water.

Where you get to choose to ride either te clear bottomed cable car or a regular cable car. With either, uou are able to fully experience the scenery Tung Chung presents. As it climbs up and up from Tung Chung’s low lands to the hills of Ngong PIng, you see what Lantau Island has to show off to your eyes.

360 Flyer Bar The biggest bar in Tung Chung isolated from the crowds. If you want to have a chilled night out with your friends, we have just the place in Tung Chung. It is the most isolated bar in Tung Chung and it is the biggest. The bar can be found right below the Ngong ping 360 (hence, the name 360 Flyer Bar) Since it is quite an isolated area not many people go to it. Providing both indoor and outdoor, you will be able to chill with your friends .
