Gastro Flea Food incubator Gastro Flea will be a neighborhood community organization supported by the city’s Economic Development Corporation with Drew Barrett as the Director. Drew is the president of Brooklyn FoodWorks at the Pfizer building on Flushing Avenue. When Drew began to form ideas for the Brooklyn FoodWords, he said We really see this as a community focal point around new food products and innovation in and around the area. Encouraged by the success of the Brooklyn FoodWorks, Drew will develop a sister facility, Gastro Flea at 230 Madison Street in the Lower East Side with funding from the Manhattan Borough President’s office to build out the 25,000sf facility. the Lower East Side offers such an opportunity, rich with economically, socially, ethnically diverse culture and history. Prior to leading Brooklyn FoodWorks, Drew was the Chief Operating Officer of Dinner Lab, Inc.. a forward-thinking culinary events company, where he oversaw expansion and growth of the business platform across the country. Drew hopes that Gastro Flea will bring together and build a community by creating a venue for collective experience based around food. Gastro Flea will house a Market/Eatery, a food incubator, a pop-up restaurant and provide education for the people of the community interested in start ups related to food.

CONCEPT STATEMENT AFTER ANALYZING THE SPACE LOCATED AT INDUSTRY CITY IN SUNSET PARK , BROOKLYN, AND THE REQUIREMENTS GIVEN BY THE COMPANY, I STARTED TO REPRESENT THE SPACE IN THE MOST BASIC AND LESS CREATIVE WAY AND TRYING TO UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH OF THE SPACE OF THE TWO FLOORS REALLY NEEDED TO MAKE A FORMAL PROPOSAL. AS MY STARTING POINT THERE WERE TWO DIFFERENT PROPOSALS BASED ON THAT IDEA,. I WAS ALSO REALLY FOCUSED ON THE RELATIONSHIP AND CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE COMPANY ORGANIZATION. AND HOW IT FUNCTIONS. THE path i choose for MY CONCEPT WAS THE EXPLOSION OF THE THIS FORMAL IDEA OF THE COMMON OFFICE CREATING A MORE OPEN SPACES reaching this experience through the entire space and providing the notion of FLEXIBILITY and openess to the user. ALSO REPRESENTING THE WAY IN WHICH THE COMPANY WAS CREATED, THE CENTRAL SPACE WAS THE FOCAL POINT OF THE PROJECT AS A CONTINUOUS RAMP AND STAIRS EVOLVING WORK AND MEETING AREAS AND ALSO CREATING NEW SPACES THAT I THINK THE COMPANY NEEDED MORE THAN THE PROGRAM THAT THEY HAD AT THE BEGINNING.

PRATT MFA INTERIOR DESIGN SPRING 2017 SECOND SEMESTER

Retail milo tricot Located on Spring Street in the heart of Soho’s Cast Iron Historic District, this project contemplates a fusion from two labels Milo Tricot and Crane & Lion, creating a concept of high fashion and athleisure transitioning from online retailing to a brick and mortar storefront. more than defining the action of retail i wanted to design an experience that allow the user to be involved in the whole action of retail demonstrating how a label is originated and transformed to find its way to reach us, making garments objects of desire that can affect our environment and trigger our senses. at the same time create more than a relationship between our bodies and fabrics. i started to look at ideas that i consider are part of this fashion desing evolution, based on the minimalism from mid 1980's up until the start of the new millenium, those collections from different labels that being considered high fachion houses and sometimes not related with the idea of less is more i saw a strong connection between their visual statements in their ads from iconic photographers and milo tricot, both having this powerful idea of personal spaces once you wear the garment an amalgamation of ideas and encounters. ANOTHER IDEA THAT I TOOK FROM MILO TRICOT IS THIS IDEA OF DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TRANSPARENCY, AND GRADIENCE AND THE DUALITY MILO TRICOT'S CLIENTELE PROFILES, STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMAN THAT LOOK FOR COMFORT, SOFTNESS WITHOUT LOSING THEIR ESSENCE OF POWER, THE SAME WAY CRATE AND LION LOOK BY JOINNING MILO TRICOT.

CONCEPT MODEL I CREATED THIS CONCEPT MODEL BECAUSE I WANTED TO SHOW THE IDEA OF LIGHT AND COLOR I WANTED TO ACHIEVE THROUGH THE ENTIRE RETAIL STORE. AND EXPRESS THE EXPERIENCE THE USER COULD HAVE ONCE THEY ENTER TO THE SPACE. THE USE OF NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL LIGHT ALSO are integrated INTO this idea about DICHOTOMy, LUXURY - ATHLEISURE, HARD AND SHARP - SOFT AND SMOOTH.

WORK EXPERIENCE

ARCHITECTURE

Residential Design PRIVATE RESIDENCE THIS IS ONE OF MY MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS, BECAUSE THERE WAS A COMPETITION TO DESIGN A HOUSE AND ALSO DOING THE INTERIOR DESIGN, Â MY PROPOSAL WAS CHOSEN AMONG A GROUP OF VERY IMPORTANT AND SELECTIVE FIRMS OF INTERIOR AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN. I worked here as an Architect, interior Designer and this was my first job as a supervisor and construction resident in the Interior Design area. The firm has three partners each one with their own team, I worked with the THREE of them specifically with Andrea Cesarman, one of the chairmen on the firm.

SIERRA VENTANA RESIDENCE

LOCATED IN ONE OF THE MOST LUXURIOUS NEIGHBORHOODS IN MEXICO CITY AND WITH AN AREA OF FOUR THOUSAND SQUARE FEET, THE PROJECT WAS DESIGNED FOR A YOUNG COUPLE, IN THE SITE THERE WAS AN ABANDONED HOUSE WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE CITY AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTICS IN SITE WAS THEMAGNIFICENT GARDENS THAT IT HAD, SO WE DECIDED TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL FOOTPRINT OF THE PREVIOUS HOUSE TO START OUR DESIGN.

OFFiCE Design THE SIX-STORY COMMERCIAL AND OFFICE BUILDING CONCEPTUALIZED AS THE TIP OF AN ICEBERG. because of its location also as a STARTING POINT for THE NEW urban master plan DEVELOPMENT at the south of mexico CITY. IS A MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY PROPOSAL, THE FORM AND DESIGN OF THE BUILDING WITH ITS GLAZED FAÇADE IN THE UPPER LEVELS IS THE RESULT TO SUNLIGHT STUDY, PROFITABLE AREA, CITY VIEWS AND GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATION PROGRAM ( LEED GOLD CORE AND SHELL), A TRANSPARENT GLAZED FAÇADE ON THE GROUND FLOOR ALLOWS MORE DIRECT RELATION BETWEEN PEDESTRIANS AND THE BUILDING INTERIORS FOR COMMERCIAL USE.

THIS IS THE FIRST OFFICE BUILDING THAT I’VE DESIGNED, 5 PARKING UNDERGROUND LEVELS, GROUND FLOOR FOR COMMERCIAL USE AND ACCESS, FIRST FLOOR MIXED USE,, THE UPPER LEVELS FOR OFFICE USE ONLY, THE ROOFTOP IS AS A RELAXING AREA WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS OF THE CITY.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Residential Design RESTORATION OF A 492 SQUARE FEET APARTMENT IN MEXICO CITY, LOCATED IN POLANCO NEIGHBOURHOOD, INSIDE OF A 1970'S BUILDING. THE OWNER A RECENTLY MARRIED BUSINESS MAN, WANTED IT AS HIS FIRST HOME. THE CONCEPT AND THE DESIGN PROPOSAL WAS A VERY OPEN SPACE AND ONLY THE MASTER BEDROOM SHOULD BE PRIVATE, ENJOYING THE VIEWS OF THE TREES AND THE STREET, WE ELIMINATE ALL THE WALLS, CREATING ALL IN ONE SPACE, SO THEY COULD ENJOY ALL THE AREAS OF THE APARTMENT.

WHEN WE DECIDED TO CREATE THIS VERY OPEN SPACE, WE THOUGHT THAT WE SHOULD APPLY JUST THREE MATERIALS WITHOUT INTERRUPTING THEIR CONTINUITY, ON THE FLOOR, AND WALLS, MINIMALISTIC KIND OF LOOK, THE PALETTE WAS THE GREY, BLACK AND VINTAGE WHITE OAK. FOR SOME PIECES OF FURNITURE WE CHOOSE LOCAL WOOD LIKE GUANACASTLE, AND AS A FOCAL POINT IN THE APARTMENT FIREPITT WE COVERED WITH BLACK MARBLE SO IT COULD HIGHLIGHT ALL THE SPACE

Commercial Design ONE OF THE MOST EXITING AND DIFFERENT PROJECT I HAVE EVER DONE, THIS INTERIOR DESIGN PROPOSAL WAS FOR A SMALL GROCERY STORE, DELI, AND COFFEE SHOP.. IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE SINCE DAY ONE STARTING WITH THE CONCEPT, THROUGH THE PROCESS, AND SUPERVISION, A PLACE WHERE YOU COULD BUY FOOD, COFFEE, WORKING THERE, OR MAYBE BECAUSE OF THE FREE WIFI., WITH THAT IN MIND I DECIDED TO CREATE THIS EXPERIENCE SINCE YOU ENTER THE PLACE AND YOUR FINAL DESTINATION SHOULD BE SPENDING TIME THERE. THE MAIN CIRCULATION SHOULD BECAME A COMPLETE EXPERIENCE FOR THE PEOPLE LEADING THEM THROUGH THIS PATH AND ENGAGING THEM WITH THE CONCEPT AND ALSO ACHIEVING THE OWNER SALES GOAL.

Urban Dimension CENTRAL EXPRESS ANOTHER REQUIREMENT FROM THE OWNER WAS KEEPING THE BUILDING FACADE FREE OF VISUAL INTERMISSIONS, SO IN THAT WAY THE IDEA OF REST AND CALM SHOULD INVITE THE USER TO USE THE SPACES AS THEIR LUNCH HOUR PLACE TO BE, INFORMAL MEETINGS, WORK OR SIMPLY ENJOY YOUR COFFEE BREAK.

THE PROPOSAL INCLUDED 3 MAIN BARS, SALAD bar, WARM bar AND COFFEE / CASHIER, ADMINISTRATION UPSTAIRS, RESTROOM, FREEZER, SEATING AREA, AND THE BAR WITH STOOLS NEXT TO THE FACADE and street view. THE WOODEN CEILING AND THE LIGHTNING ARE THE ELEMENTS THAT LEAD US THROUGH THE PATH INSIDE THE PLACE. THE USE OF WOOD COVERING THE FRIDGEs ALSO CONTAIN THE STORAGE SPACE ABOVE THIS AREA. THE CEILING PAINTED IN BLACK and the wooden soffit helped us to dissimulate THE hvac branches. THE USE OF WHITE CERAMIC TILES HELPED US TO CREATE A MORE neutral LOOK ON THE WALLS, AND IS EASIER to mantain clean and because hygienic..

The material palette was intended to keep a casual look without compromising the quality of the space using the same grey granite and APPLYING it ON THE FLOOR AND IN THE BARS BUT WITH DIFFERENT FINISH, GIVING A idea that you can customize your experience... THE YELLOW color WAS first was conceived TO BE ON THE hvac branches and PIPES, BUT i felt that it would BECAME A bolder STATEMENT ON THE BOOTH seating AREA IN CONTRAST WITH THE BLACK AND WHITE of the other furniture.

NYC Internship Goodrich Company

INTERIOR DESIGN INTERNSHIP

AS PART OF MY GRADUATE PROGRAM AT PRATT INSTITUTE I WORKED AT GOODRICH COMPANY DURING FALL 2017 AS PART OF MY INTERNSHIP,, I FOUND THIS OPPORTUNITY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IVE EVER EXPERIENCED HERE IN NEW YORK CITY,. IT GAVE ME THE OVERALL IDEA OF HOW A SMALL COMPANY IS ORGANIZED, HOW PEOPLE WORK AND MY INTERACTION WITH OTHER PEERS. AT THE BEGINNING OF MY TIME THERE WE WERE 5 PEOPLE, THE PRINCIPAL AND HIS ASSOCIATE, ONE ADMINISTRATIVE AND TWO INTERNS, BUT WITH JUST ONE MONTH THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A RESTAURANT AND A PROPOSAL FOR A HOTEL THE COMPANY BECAME BIGGER.. THROUGH MY TIME AT GOODRICH COMPANY I FOUND THAT THE QUALITY OF DESIGN NOT ONLY AFFECTS THE USER BUT ALSO CAN IMPROVE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BUSINESS AND PART OF THE CLIENT SUCCESS IS ALSO OURS TOO.

Live Alive Restaurant The proposal for this restaurant located in Boston, ma. started with the idea to create a natural safe and peaceful environment that provides well being through food, ambience and the atmosphere that you can breath in it. the concept based on four different moods that gave the complete immersive experience for the user. the historical reference from paolo salori's arcology, the aspirational from wellness resort, the familiar feeling based on the old soda fountain pharmacies where you could prepare your own medication and beverages depending on your necessities or taste and the idea or a space where a personal shaman or muse that guide you through your way every day is the final reference for the concept of this project. i helped with the elaboration of construction plans, autocad drawings, rendered plans and elevations, ffe specs sheets and furniture selection. West Elm hotel attuned to Oakland's diverse heritage, we are designing for inclusivity, in creating spaces that are hospitable for all, the hotel's laid back attitude will reflect both west elm hotels and the nature of Oakland. we've been inspired by Oakland's eclectic architectural history, we are also drawing inspiration from broader California references that add character to this location. layering textures, natural materials, hand crafted products and plant life will become key to creating and fostering the warmth of this laid back residentially inspired concept. i helped with the elaboration of autocad drawings, rendered plans and elevations, ffe specs sheets and furniture selection.

plusFARM PARALLEL CITIES

DESIGN / CONSTRUCTION / FABRICATION / EXHIBITION

DURING SUMMER 2017 I TOOK A COURSE CALLED PARALLEL CITIES AT PRATT INSTITUTE WITH THE INTERIOR DESIGN DIRECTOR ALISON SNYDER, ALONG WITH WILLIAM HASKAS FROM PLUSFARM, NY, AND ALESSANDRO AYUSO WESTMINSTER UNIVERSITY, LONDON. Through workshops, discussions, and exhibitions Parallel Cities participants speculate. The work and activity of Parallel Cities takes as a starting point an intensely hybrid approach. This hybridity manifests in several ways, including a hybridity of disciplines, where Interior Architecture and Design methods are combined with aspects of Art, Urban Design, and Architecture as type of nascent Interior Urbanism. Process and making are crucial to this approach, particularly the overlapping of craft techniques with digital and analogue media. For instance, combining digital modeling and parametric design with drawing and physical models, to uncover the relationships between bodies, networks, and spaces of the city.

plusFARM HOWL

CONSTRUCTION / FABRICATION / INSTALLATION

For one night Plus farm transformed Lot Radio into a de-embodiment of ourselves. In a constantly moving installation the space became a simultaneously ethereal and physical expression of our relationship with the cloud. Using 35 handmade inflatables filled with helium the studio explored the convergence of art, music, light, architecture, and digital space. The event created an immersive nightscape that augmented reality through spatial complexity and affective variability. Time and movement were brought together with processes of bodily interaction to construct an experiential environment. The project: Howl_Bodies at Night invited the public to participate in an choreographed performance where the functions are loosely defined, yet carefully orchestrated.
