Carpathian Mountain Cake This popular Polish dessert gets its name from the rugged Carpathian Mountains, because after it is dusted with icing sugar, its top resembles the snow-covered mountain peaks.
Ingredients Dough 1 cup of water 125g of unsalted butter 1 cup of flour 1 tsp of baking powder 5 eggs Cake Filling 1 pint of milk 1 cup of sugar 2 tbs of potato starch 2 tbs of flour 250g of unsalted butter 1 tbs of vanilla

Directions Dough Dissolve butter in water, add flour and baking powder – mix and boil for 3 minutes. Set aside until it cools. Add eggs mixing at the same time. Divide the dough into two exact portions. Pour the batter into two baking pans – fairly thin layers. Bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cake Filling Mix milk with flour and starch while boiling. Add vanilla. Spread the mixture over the surface of one pastry layer. Cover with the other layer (mountain side up!) and allow it to cool down.
Dust with the icicng sugar, slice into squares to serve.
