A revolutionary taper design allows tremendous loop stability at distance and a unique weight distribution loads a rod at close range for easy casting. The front taper delivers perfect turnover and presentation of flies between sizes #22 and #2, making this the best general purpose, all round fly line on the market. The long back taper is excellent for mending and for roll and single handed spey casting and the color change between the head and the running line makes it easy to find the perfect load point for each cast. The lines features RIO's new Extreme Slickness Technology for an extraordinarily slick, dirt‐repelling coating; in addition RIO's AgentX and Super Floatation Technologies ensure the line tip and running line remain floating high. As with all of RIO's premier trout lines a small, neat welded loop in the front end makes it easy to change leaders.

The RIO Grand is one half size heavier and features more weight distributed towards the front of the line to easily load fast action fly rods. AgentX Technology gives the RIO Grand maximum floatation and the XS Technology produces a wonderfully slick finish for easy distance. RIO's Indicator line has been designed for the specific application of casting indicator rigs with ease. Thick diameter tip and short front taper easily turns over the largest of indicators. Long head and back taper make it very easy to mend and control the line at great distance. Highly visible tip can be used as an indicator ‐ especially when Czech nymphing.

A long, delicate front taper ensures the softest of presentations, making the line perfect for fishing dry flies, soft hackles, emergers, small nymphs and chironomids, while an extended body gives the line stability at range and makes mending and roll casting easy. The profile has a very long back taper and body for easy roll casting and mending and the short front taper ensures that casting weighted nymphs, indicators and big air‐resistant flies is no problem. RIO’s Super Floatation Technology creates an ultra high floating tip that stays up under normal conditions and the high visibility tip is a built‐in strike indicator. The Nymph line has a welded loop on the front tip for easy rigging and fast leader changes. A must‐have line for the serious lake angler. Castability has always been a problem with clear intermediate sinking lines because there are no lubricants in the coating and the lines drag through the guides. RIO has solved the problem by incorporating proprietary lubricants and XS technology (new for 2009) into the running line coating that make the line slick. The running line is translucent green while the head is completely clear. With an intermediate sinking rate of 1.5 – 2.0 inches per second (3.7 cm/s), the line is perfect for fishing subsurface and shallow shore lines. Ideal when stealth is required for wary, selective fish. Made on a low memory supple monofilament core with a coldwater coating and welded loop on the front end.

A floating line with a 9.5 ft clear intermediate tip, this is an excellent line for fishing streamers in fall as well as for nymph and chironomid fishing on lakes. The clear tip sinks at 1.5 – 2 ips, perfect for just under the surface or on windy days where a floating line will lose contact with the fly. Built on a Clouser taper it’s fantastic for casting big streamers or teams of flies and for managing wind. The single‐strand Powerflex core with coldwater coating provides high line speed for maximum distance and the highest casting performance. The Density Compensated 24 ft sink tip lines from RIO are the best in the world. The short, thick body section behind the sinking tip makes these lines much easier to cast than competing lines, while the density compensated tip ensures the line tip sinks at the same speed as the body, resulting in better strike detection and more hook ups. The durable running line ensures that these fly lines will outlast anything else available. These lines are unbeatable for trout and all types of anadromous fish.
The lines are designed with a balanced length of thick floating body to eliminate the “hinge” or kick during the casting stroke. Density compensation stops the problem of sinking tips from sinking in a curve; the tip sinks at the same speed as the body to get the fly down for more strikes and better strike detection.

Di seguito riportiamo la classifica delle categorie che distinguono le diverse serie di prodotti. - ULTRA PLATINUM: il confine più alto nella genetica delle piume. Una serie da collezione che offre hackles con caratteristiche eccezionali, specialmente nella lunghezza, densità e misure delle piume. Disponibile su prenotazione. - PLATINUM: il top del progresso genetico. Quasi tutta utilizzabile, la lunghezza di queste hackles permette la costruzione di oltre 2 mosche per piuma. Si lavora con grande piacere. Disponibile su prenotazione. - GOLD: altissima qualità con particolare enfasi per un utilizzo vantaggioso ed un minimo di prodotto sprecato e buttato. Una vasta densità di hackles permettono l’utilizzo in diverse misure. È la scelta giusta per i costruttori più esigenti e professionali. Disponibile su prenotazione. - SILVER: una maggiore ampiezza e densità delle piume per tutta la lunghezza del collo caratterizzano questo grado il silver. Migliore di qualsiasi altra produzione di hackle che si possa produrre, la lunghezza delle hackles consente di costruire una mosca e mezza per piuma. Sempre disponibile. - BRONZE: questi colli offrono un eccellente valore e qualità, adatti a tutti i costruttori. WHITING DRY FLY HACKLE Le spalle WHITING DRY FLY HACKLE vengono graduate in base al numero medio di mosche che possono essere costruite per ogni spalla (pelt). Il grado non considera la misura di hackle con cui si può costruire, come invece spesso si ritiene. I principi che vengono seguiti per determinare la quantità di mosche che ogni spalla permette di costruire sono elencati di seguito. - Il numero medio di piume utilizzabili per le dry fly viene contato da entrambi i lati della spalla. (Esempio: un numero di 95 piume nel lato sinistro e 100 in quello destro determina un totale di utilizzo di 195 piume per la costruzione) - Viene calcolata una media della lunghezza delle piume. Esemplificando: una lunghezza media di 8 inches. - Viene determinata la misura delle hackle per la costruzione. La maggior parte delle spalle hanno sempre due misure predominanti (esempio: #12 e #14; #14 e #16) con una presenza di hackle in entrambe le parti che ne caratterizzano la taglia media. - Il numero totale di mosche per spalla viene calcolato. Esemplificando: una piuma lunga 8 inches con misura di hackle del #14 permetterà di costruire 4 mosche; 195 piume utilizzabili moltiplicate per 4 mosche per piuma dà come risultato un minimo di 780 mosche. È importante sottolineare che la quantità di utilizzo di hackle diminuisce con la misura dell’amo, quindi anche se è stata designata una certa misura di hackle in realtà è possibile costruire più mosche. Le spalle vengono classificate nel loro grado appropriato basandosi sulla quantità minima di mosche secche che ogni spalla permetterà di costruire. PLATINUM per costruire almeno 1.500 mosche GOLD per costruire almeno 1.100 mosche SILVER per costruire almeno 0.800 mosche BRONZE per costruire almeno 0.500 mosche 1/2 SPALLA per costruire circa 1/2 della stessa quantità di una spalla intera 1/4 DI SPALLA per costruire circa 1/4 della stessa quantità di una spalla intera codice
