The Medilink prestigious awards denotes excellence in a different categories including Start Up, Innovation, Export, Partnership with the NHS, and Outstanding Achievement. The annual Medilink West Midlands Medical and Healthcare Business Awards provides an excellent opportunity to bring together leading organisations from across the sector and celebrates the best achievements across the West Midlands region. The cooling system supplied by Paxman for cancer patients consists of a compact refrigeration system connected to a lightweight silicone rubber cap. Paxman Coolers ltd asked the academic partner, the University of Huddersfield and Primasil to improve the cap’s effectiveness, ease of manufacturability. The challenges include a new manufacturing methods creating a new silicone rubber formulation, the use of 3D printing technology for tooling and finding a new way to improve automation in production.
