GRONOMY UPDATE, THE GALLERY GOLF CLUB

ark Soto

The month of August will be busy for our agronomy team In anticipation of the seasonal monsoons, we will be aggressively managing the bermudagrass turf canopy through aerification and vertical mowing. These mechanical practices are implemented to improve the overall health of the soil profile by eliminating thatch, relieving compaction, supplying oxygen to the root zone and thinning out the turf canopy. These practices are essential to the overall health of the bermudagrass base in anticipation of our annual overseeding efforts

Monsoon rain events often lead to significant clean-up efforts on both courses Please know our

In anticipation of overseed, we will be treating both courses with a pre-emergent herbicide as a tool to better help control poa annua pressure during our winter season In addition, we will also be treating our surrounding deserts to manage annual weed pressure. These applications will be concentrated to those areas surrounding tees, perimeters of every golf hole, non-golf side of the cart paths and landscaping throughout the clubhouse and sports club areas.

Our greens surfaces are performing well given the excessive heat and increasing humidity We will continue to monitor them throughout August and adjust height of cut as needed Bi-weekly topdressing will continue as scheduled

We hope to see you golfing on the course soon!
