Why Keith became a Member

In 1995, when my family was returning to the United States from Belgium, my wife always wanted to work in Colonial Williamsburg. We already owned a lot in Kingsmill so rather than going back to Northern Virginia we decided to build Terry was able to work for Colonial Williamsburg and I would find a job somewhere in the area until I could retire in seven years. Well, the last point did not work out all that well. For seven years, I would commute to the Pentagon on Monday morning or Sunday night and return on Friday

Terry and the kids got to enjoy all of Kingsmill for those seven years. I only had the pleasure on weekends But, as Terry would say, she always knew that I would come home because there were three golf courses waiting for me. We loved the community and the history of the area.

What is your favorite thing about Kingsmill?

Three golf courses, and being able to golf (nearly) 365 days a year! And all the trees!

Fun Fact

Started a round on February 16, 2019, on The River Course in some iffy weather, with a group concession that if the weather got too bad we would call it a day quickly Well, I got a hole-in-one on #2 – then the weather turned awful with rain, then freezing rain. We got in nine holes but everyone was frozen and wanted to quit. Loren reminded everyone that the hole-inone would not count if the round was not finished within 24 hours I checked and saw that the the rain would stop around 3 PM So, I went home, took a shower, warmed up, and went back to finish the round at 3 PM. Lou Bartek, who had been playing with us that day (and is still a staff member) agreed to ride and score the last nine holes for me. We finished the round before it got dark I probably scored a 100 on the last nine But who cares, I finished and had my official second hole-in-one, and the plaque is on the wall to prove it
