Students Elect Councils For Convenience Of Girls On October 3, Barbara Balzano presided at a house meeting in McAuley Hall for the purpose of electing a house committee. She explained to the students the duties of such a court: responsibility and spokesmanship for all reasonable requests of the residents living in the hall. The committee which includes Janet Brady, Monique Jeffroy, Donna H urd, Jane Integlia and Helena D'Almeida, sophomore class president, acting as chairman, will meet twice a month to make any adjustments needed in the house. Barbara also explained the new bell system in effect, which has proved very satisfactory, alleviating much confusion. Each girl has been assigned a specific bell number which can be heard throughout the entire house when it is rung. The girls have also decided on a system of desk duty which will require each student in the hall to attend to the main desk twice a semester during study hour. These new plans are all in effect for the benefit and convenience of the resident students in McAuley Hall. The residents of Mercy H all have much the same type of government. A house committee includes Anne Martin, Besty Hennessey, Germaine Forest, Deanna Encalada, Evelyn Morel, and Rachel Wheeler.
