Art students are roo busy with ·christmas projects tO srop to talk abo ut them, but Sister Mary Mercedes d id find the time tO give us some information about the club's activities. First and foremost is the Art Exhibit which will be held during the week of December 8 through 12. It will include paintings, both oil and past-els, o:eramacs, montages, collage~, and projects for Arrs a~d Crafts in the schools. The club Will also meet in connection with this event to see a showing of M adonnas. Miss Barbara Balzano has charge of the exhibit. Club officers for the 1958-1959 school year are as follows : Gail D ouglas, president; Barbara Fe_rreira, vice president; Marsha Pettis, s-ecretary; and Joan Casinghino, treasurer. Miss Lillian Zompa heads the hospitaliry committee. Once again vhe girls have been asked ro m ake the background for a scene in a series presented by the Knights of Columbus in To_uro Park. One of the bright stars in this year's Christmas season will be illuminating over the Pawtucket Country Club on December 26. For that is the place and the date of the annual off-campus dance sponsored by the senior class. The Holly Ball is under the general chairmanship of B. J. Brennan. It is a semi-formal affair and is open to all underclassmen. For the nominal price of $6.00, happy fun-seekers and f.estive party-goers will dance to the music of Ralph Stuart amid gala seasonal atmosphere from 8: 30 P. M. to midnight. Maureen McCabe is chairman of the music. Gail Douglas is responsible for obtaining the Country Club for the dance. Eileen Griffin is chairman of the ticket committee; Joyce Santucci is head of the refreshment committee. Mr. and Mrs. John Henry, Mr. and Mrs. George McCabe, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth D ouglas, and Mrs. William Miles have been invited to chaperone. Although the theme is in keeping with the spirit of good will and good cheer of the Christmas season, the purpose of the dance strikes . a serious note as well. Its success wJ!l help to defray some of the financial burdens of the 1959 Regina Maris. And its success depends upon the support of the underclassmen. All are urged ro include the H olly Ball in oheir calendar of special and important events during the Christmas holidays. N. F. C. C. S. realizes that rhe m ajor objective should be to strengthen the apostolic spmt am ong students which will be the realm of the Religious Affairs program . As students, we naturally have to be concerned with improving ourselves. Student Affairs program will endeavor to aid member colleges re this. As future leaders "of this nation and respected participants in the world community", we realize that the training and experience we g:tin in college must be contributed toward the preservation of democracy and of world peace. This is the realm of International Affairs.
