Cosmopolitan Touch At Salve Regina As Five Foreign Students Arrive "Saludas amigas" is our greeting to our new Latin American students- Rosario Martinez, Nora Borrero, and Ligia Vesga . lacking the proper Chinese salutation, we nevertheless offer a hearty " Hi and welcome" to our Virginia Li and Yin -Cheng Djuh . The senoritas from south of the border make their home in Barranquilla, Colombia, and have been acquainted with e ach other since childhood, although attending different schools. "Engl ish, it ees so difficult" is their plaintive plea. With only a slight command of the spoken language when first arriving , they have amassed quite an active vocabulary and are rapidly becoming fluent conversaltionalists . Perhaps their eagerness to learn is the prime impetus to
th e ir progress. Assiduously they pour over ·::1eir Spanish-English dictionary i·o acquire a larger vocabulary . Members of the Junior class, they are taking the com me rc e course to prepare them for work which has a large demand for maste ry of both English and Spanish .
