Your BruinCard will allow you entry into your community. Our 24-hour electronic access control system includes card readers at lobby entrances, elevators, and stairwell entrances that lead to living or restricted areas. All building exterior doors are locked and alarmed (except for those in Residential Suites). As an added precaution, Access Control staff monitors entrances to the Residence Halls in the late evening and early morning. Community Service Officers (CSOs) escorts are available to walk with students, faculty, staff or visitors 365 days a year from dusk until 1:00 a.m. between all campus buildings, local living areas or Westwood Village. Call 310-794-WALK (9255). Evening Van Service is a shuttle service operated by CSOs during the academic year under the direction of the UCPD. Hours are 6:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

Sustainable Dining Tips. UCLA Dining Services is committed to heightening its sustainability efforts through operational practices and food purchases. Here are ways you can contribute: • G o trayless: Washing trays uses water and energy. Using a tray can also lead to piling on more food than needed. • C hoose Organic: Eat local, in-season organic foods whenever possible. • B e mindful of eating meat: Meat production uses much greater amounts of water and energy, with far greater greenhouse gas emissions.
Conserve Energy and Water. • Turn off lights, heating and air conditioning when you leave your room. • Turn off computers and other appliances when not in use. • Wash laundry in cold water or warm water instead of hot.
