A tremendous collaboration of research and expert medical input went into the creation of our Advanced Safety Plan®, which exceeds recommendations by the CDC, ACA, NIH, and AAP, as well as local and state restrictions which is why ESF is considered one of the safest camps in the United States. We will adjust our plan to meet recommended guidelines and requirements once they are announced and as we get closer to the 2021 summer camp season. A detailed Safety Plan will also be provided prior to camp at Family Orientation. While some of our camp programs will look different this summer, be assured that the in-person camp experiences will still be chock-full of enrichment opportunities and action-packed, fun activities.

DAILY HEALTH SCREENING USING RUVNA HEALTH TECHNOLOGY Ruvna is a customized COVID-19 screening, tracking and notification system used to ensure a healthy camp community. •

How Team Member will use Ruvna:  Receive text and email alert; texts come from 36598  Click the link in text or email  Complete the daily health screening  Receive instructions automatically about status for day – if symptom-free you will receive a barcode to present upon arrival  Arrive to camp and present your barcode to designated ESF Team Member at arrival  If “not approved to arrive at camp” your Site Director will communicate with you directly to determine next steps for returning to work

VISITORS For the safety of our campers and Team Members, the campus will be closed this summer to all visitors. Only pre-approved, essential visitors will be permitted with clearance from our Camp Director or Camp Nurse. •

Visitors will be screened upon arrival using our daily health screening questionnaire and their temperature will be taken. Visitors will be required to wear a face covering and maintain social distance from all campers and Team Members.

VACCINATIONS We are strongly encouraging our staff be fully vaccinated, prior to the start of camp, for individual and community safety. If vaccinated, Team Members are asked to provide proof of vaccination. In the event that a Team Member is considered a close contact, proof of vaccination will be required in order to be excluded from having to quarantine.

Face Coverings •

Face coverings will be worn by campers and staff at all times with exceptions for certain settings or activities. These guidelines are subject to change according to CDC and local health department guidelines. If your face covering is damaged or soiled, or if breathing through the mask becomes difficult, you should remove the face mask, discard it safely, and replace it with a new one. To safely discard your mask, place it in a plastic bag and put it in the trash. Wash your hands after handling the used mask.

REASONABLE CONTACT REDUCTION • •

No large camp gatherings will take place Each building will have dedicated entrances and exits and directional signage to indicate traffic flow.

CLEANING, DISINFECTING AND HANDWASHING • • • • • • •

Scheduled rotations for cleaning high touch surfaces in common areas will happen daily. Cleaning schedules will be documented and maintained in accordance with state and local health departments. Campers and Team Members will wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before and after every activity. Team Members will have travel size hand sanitizer with them throughout the day. Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be strategically set-up on campus. Team Members will wipe down activity areas and equipment between use. Equipment and supply sharing will be limited. Supply bins will be designated by group with general camp and cleaning supplies. Team Members will have spare masks for campers in case their mask gets lost or damaged.

FACILITIES •

• •

• •

Indoor and outdoor spaces throughout campus will be modified to ensure proper social distancing and limited gatherings of campers and Team Members. Outdoor areas will be set-up to provide safe learning and meeting spaces for campers utilizing permanent and temporary structures and equipment. To the extent possible, each group will be designated an area as their "home base" and provided a bunk bin with common camp supplies. This home base will house their backpack, change of clothes, lunch bin, etc... and serves as an inclement weather space for that group. Windows will be open in their home base to increase air flow when possible. The room will be configured to accommodate both seated activities and open meeting/play space. Social distancing will be more flexible within their home base. Specialists will travel to home base areas to conduct their activities. Electives offered by bunk/group to reduce overlap and mixing of groups.

LUNCH, SNACK AND HYDRATION • • • • •

Campers and Team Members will wash hands and sanitize for all lunch, snack and restroom breaks. Campers and Team Members will eat snacks and lunch with their group and will be spaced appropriately for social distancing. Lunches will remain in camper’s backpack in an outdoor shaded area or an indoor classroom. Refrigeration will not be available for home brought lunches. Pre-packaged individual snacks will be provided for all campers. Campers and Team Members should bring their own refillable water bottle to camp each day, as well as a back-up water bottle. Designated refill water stations will be available throughout the camp and managed by Team Members.

SWIMMING Pre-swim (out of pool) • Campers and Team Members arrive at camp “swimsuit ready” (wearing swimsuits) with change of clothes. • • •

Changing rooms are for use after swim only. At some locations, campers will be able to change in their designated indoor space, then come to swim. Entering & exiting pool area is carefully designed using social distancing & signage. “Deck Patrol” is defined as visible Team Members who monitor protocols & traffic flow in pool area.

During swim (in pool) • Teaching groups ratios of 1:3 or 1:4 maximum. Pool capacity limited: pool size, distancing, swim level • Lifeguards focus on campers in the pool! They will not enforce Covid protocols on deck. “Deck Patrol” will handle Covid protocols on deck (see above). • Non-lifeguard staff who are not in water will wear masks. • Campers wear face coverings before and after swim, not during swim. • No cloth masks of any kind are worn while in the water by anyone (campers or Team members). • Campers & groups distanced 6’ apart on deck & in pool. DROP OFF & PICK UP • • • • • • • •

Parents, guardians, and caregivers should remain in their vehicles at all times and wear a mask during drop-off and pick-up. Site Director will designate “Health Monitors” at arrival who are responsible for welcoming camper(s) prior to exiting their vehicle, view their Ruvna barcode, and give an “all clear” for arrival. Campers will sanitize their hands upon exiting the vehicle. Campers who travel to and from camp by bus will be screened prior to getting on their bus. Bus Monitors will view Ruvna barcode and give “all clear” to get on bus. Masks will be worn at all times by campers, Bus Monitor and Bus Driver. Seats will be assigned. Campers will sit 1 camper per seat unless siblings.

EXTENDED DAY SERVICES (OT) AND AFTER CAMP ENRICHMENT • • • • • • • • •

Pre-registration is required and no drop-ins allowed. Private swim lessons are the only Enrichment offerings for summer 2021. In the event a caregiver is running late, camper will be enrolled in OT with their appropriate bunk/group, until caregiver arrives. Camp to communicate directly with caregiver. Camper and Team Member groups will be consistent once OT begins. Team Members working with particular age groups during the regular camp day will be maintained during OT. Snack to be served by group and lunch policies apply. Activities to be done outside unless inclement weather. If indoors, activity areas to be assigned by OT group and socially distanced. Activities determined by least number of equipment or supplies. No sharing of equipment or supplies between groups. Sanitize equipment or supplies after use. Everyone is masked; campers and Team Members. Regular carline polices enforced for drop-off and pick-up which includes mask-wearing and staying in the vehicle.
