Dig into science and learn environmental stewardship through scientific investigation, cool experimentation, and outdoor exploration including organic gardening. Weekly themes are featured.
Morning Assembly in Teepee Village gets campers energized for a funfilled, action-packed day of activities. Camp spirit echoes as campers sing camp songs, participate in tribe challenges, and daily announcements are shared. Values are instilled through unique traditions like the Gratitude Rock, Word of the Week and more.
Creative & Performing Arts Sports Practice sportsmanship and teamwork while learning the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, track & field, street hockey, flag football, tee-ball, whiffle ball and Gaga. With fun weekly tournaments and recreational games.
Fine Arts & Keepsake Crafts Create artwork in the styles of famous artists and make keepsake crafts including tie dye t-shirts, clay creations, jewelry, mosaics and more.

Culinary Arts: A Taste of Italy 1 week Put on your apron, roll up your sleeves, and follow us into the kitchen for a week of mouthwatering fun. Guided by an executive chef, create and enjoy palate-pleasing dishes from various regions of Italy. Learn about food preparation and kitchen safety, explore helpful hints for measuring, chopping, mixing, and garnishing, and much more. The final course is “An Italian Food Festival,” including your delectable creations, Italian music, and, of course, a Bocce Tournament! Mangia Italiano!
Outdoor Adventure (Rockwall) 1 week Conquer a 40-foot Rockwall with challenges for each skill level, under the watchful eye of experienced instructors. Provides an introduction to animation and the use of Adobe Flash. Celebrate your creative genius at the Animator’s Festival for family and friends on the last day. No prior experience with Adobe Flash necessary and all skill levels welcome.
Digital Photography & Graphic Design 1 week Learn to take photos like a pro. Explore photography and digital camera functionality as you capture photographs and digitally enhance them using Adobe Photoshop. Learn graphic design skills and create brochures, magazines, and more. Mount and display your collection at the Major Camp Gallery Exhibition for family and friends to view on the last day. No prior experience with Adobe Photoshop necessary and all skill levels welcome.
Digital Video Production 1 week Experience acting, directing, screenwriting, producing, and camera work. Collaborate with your production team to create a short film production — a movie trailer, a sitcom scene, or a short commercial. Learn how to write a script and use the necessary tools to direct and edit short-form video projects on an Android smart tablet or iOS device, using iMovie. Showcase your film for family and friends at the ESF big-screen event on the last day — the Major Camp Film Festival. No prior experience with iMovie necessary and all skill levels welcome.
Minecraft Video Game Design
ADVENTURE CAMP Overnight Adventure Expedition (Age 10+ only) 1 week A unique, week-long overnight experience where ESF campers from PA, NJ, CT, NY & MD come together for fun, friendship, and leadership-based adventure programming. Highlights include: fishing, canoeing, hiking, biking, sports, art, swimming, high and low ropes course challenges, team-building initiatives, an introduction to outdoor living skills, special events and more. A challenging experience in a supportive and nurturing environment to develop the leader within. Overnight camp is held in Lawrenceville, NJ. Transportation to and from the overnight camp will be provided.
1 week Use your imagination and learn how to design, build and explore exciting new 3D video game worlds. Get instruction in mods, programming (Redstone) and 3D Design. Finetune your problem-solving skills as you navigate the various construction challenges of this new environment. Showcase your 3D world to family and friends at the Major Camps Minecraft Convention. No prior experience with Redstone or Minecraft necessary and all skill levels welcome.
Robotics 1 week Learn how to design and build a robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS®. Program your robot to perform projectoriented tasks and challenges. For novices, start with the basics of construction and programming. For the more experienced, develop sophisticated programming and engineering skills. Showcase your robot’s unique abilities for family and friends at the R-BOTX Convention. No prior experience with Lego Mindstorms necessary and all skill levels welcome.

3 LEVELS OF PLAY Learn the Basics For the beginner player, learn the fundamentals of the game: proper grip, racquet preparation, forehand, backhand, volley, serve, return of serve, overhead, footwork, and basic scoring. Campers feel comfortable and confident on the court while experiencing steady improvement.
Refine Your Strokes For the intermediate player, develop and refine basic strokes with a focus on consistency, footwork, shot selection, and strategy. Campers further develop first and second serves, approach shots, and net game through instruction and match play.
Fine Tune Your Game For the advanced player, identify and build on strengths and turn them into powerful on-court weapons. Greater emphasis is placed on situation awareness, stamina, foot speed, competitive match play, and the development of individual styles of play. Swimming at ESF We develop swimmers utilizing the latest teaching techniques and coaching methods. Beginning with water safety skills and basic fundamentals, we then move on to progressive stroke development and refinement of techniques. Our well-established program is designed to be compatible with the unique and ever-changing abilities and skill levels of each camper. ESF also offers private swim instruction to campers who are interested in devoting more time to enhancing their skills.

Available under the guidance and direction of our Red Cross Certified Instructors and Lifeguards. Lessons are designed to be compatible with individual camper needs and skill levels. To enroll, please call the camp office. All lessons held at camp after 3:45pm.
Our all-adult staff is made up of certified lifeguards and instructors who are trained to teach our program and adhere to impeccable safety protocols. We maintain a low staff to camper ratio.

EXTEND YOUR DAY CLINICS AND WORKSHOPS
CLUB OT On a regular or a drop-in basis, start the day as early as 8am and stay as late as 6pm. Club OT campers are divided into groups by age and enjoy sports, games, crafts, chess, book club, drama, theater and much more. Afternoon snacks and refreshments provided. Flexible scheduling with no pre-payment or registration required. Billing is done twice a month by mail. Optional Bus Transportation is not available for our extended day programs. Application Process
Camp T-Shirt
Complete both sides of the application, sign the back, and return with a $300 deposit per camper. Once we receive and review your application, a confirmation/invoice will be mailed to verify your reservation(s). Balance is due by April 1, 2014. All applications sent after April 1, 2014 require full payment.

Optional Lunch Program Campers may bring their lunch and drink to camp which we refrigerate, or they can participate in our lunch program for an additional cost of $50/week. To sign up, please check the appropriate box on the application.
Transportation Optional bus transportation is available for families located throughout the New York City area and Westchester County. Please refer to page 31 for details. Families also have the option of dropping-off and picking-up at camp.

Refreshments & Snacks Campers are provided with a snack and juice each day. Water coolers and fountains are easily accessible to campers throughout the day.
All important camp-related materials will be distributed at Camp Orientation which will take place in late May or early June. Your attendance is highly recommended to help make your child’s transition into camp as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Orientation dates and times will be mailed in May.

For the health and safety of all campers, no child will be allowed to attend camp without a completed ESF Health History Record on file. After enrollment, this form will be mailed to you and must be returned prior to camp.
For your convenience, we offer daily towel service at no extra charge. Campers do not need to bring towels to camp.
All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by April 1, 2014, and are subject to a $50 processing fee per child. No refunds after April 1, 2014. No refunds for late arrival, early dismissal, vacations, illness, or injury. Changes in enrolled weeks are based upon availability and must be made on or before April 1, 2014.

SUMMER 2014 ENROLLMENT APPLICATION | SIDE 1 RIVERDALE Please complete both sides of this application, sign the back of the form and return it with a $300 deposit per camper. Due to the camps’ unique format, enrollment is limited. You are encouraged to sign up early. The balance of the tuition is due by April 1, 2014. FAMILY, GROUP & REFERRAL DISCOUNTS A 5% Family Discount is given to families enrolling 2 or more children. This discount applies to each child after the first in your immediate family. (The first child is the camper with the higher tuition.) Our 5% Group Discount allows you and your friends to receive a 5% discount off camp tuition. All you need to do is send 3 or more applications in the same envelope! For families enrolling online, call our office and we will assist you. (Please note: Family and Group Discounts are separate and may not be combined.) OPTIONAL LUNCH PROGRAM Campers may bring their own lunch & beverage to camp (which we refrigerate), or they may participate in our optional lunch program for an additional $50 per week by checking the appropriate box above. CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2014 If you need to cancel your child’s enrollment in camp, you must notify us in writing by April 1, 2014 in order to receive a refund. Cancellations on or prior to this date are subject to a $50 processing fee per child. No refunds will be given out after April 1, 2014 regardless of your registration date. Changes in enrolled weeks are based on availability and must also be made on or before the April 1, 2014 deadline. GROUPING REQUESTS Campers are grouped according to age and grade level. If you would like your child grouped with a specific friend, please write his/ her name and home phone number on this application. Campers MUST be entering the same grade next fall.
