The European Small Hydropower Association (ESHA) - Vacancy Announcement The European Small Hydropower Association (ESHA) represents the interests of the small hydropower sector advocating the benefits and opportunities of hydropower at the EU level. The association serves as a platform for hydropower stakeholders providing its members with key information and briefings on EU policies and legislation and creating synergies within the renewable energy and other relevant sectors. ESHA is looking for a Policy and Project Officer to be based at its office in Brussels. The position includes occasional missions within Europe. Tasks and responsibilities: Lead, plan and execute ESHA’s lobbying activities Prepare policy positions in coordination with ESHA’s boards and background briefings Represent ESHA in relevant conferences and events Contribute to ESHA’s media and PR activities (interviews, draft articles, presentations) Manage and cooperate in ongoing EU co-sponsored projects and participate in the development of new ones Profile: University background and at least 5 years of experience in EU-related renewable energy issues In-depth familiarity with EU decision-making processes and EU energy and climate issues as well as a basic knowledge about hydropower Proven campaigner with established contacts to key EU decision-makers Excellent communication skills in English and strong knowledge of French Good organization and representation skills Be reliable and capable of paying close attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as in team respecting tight deadlines To apply, please send a letter of motivation and CV to ESHA’s Secretary General Dirk Hendricks, email: recruitment@esha.be.
