Intro

So, what the heck are ‘desperate’ and ‘obsessive’ niches? From a purely financial perspective, the desperate and obsessive niches are often the ones that yield the most profit as they are the markets that contain the customers who feel they have little choice but to buy the relevant product or service relating to their desperate or obsessive need.

Whether it’s an 18 year old fashion victim who feels completely compelled to spend $500 on a handbag, or a chronic snorer who has been told they’re heading for the divorce courts if they don’t find a solution to their snoring problem, where there is desperation or obsession there is dollars. It is the oldest business tactic in the book. You find out people’s problems and then sell them a solution.

This e-book is purely focusing on the niches and products that consistently attract the desperate and obsessive and consequently convert much better than the more passive niches where people may only really buy on a whim rather than a serious need. It is this focus on certain types of markets that has allowed me to make a comfortable living from my 2

affiliate marketing alone, the bulk of which comes from promoting Clickbank and CPA offers.

I shall be highlighting the various offers that are worth promoting throughout this e-book in solid detail and also revealing some of the traffic generation methods and sources that bring in the cash.

NICHE EVALUATION Most of us who’ve been in marketing or business in general will understand just why desperation and obsession are so profitable. When there is ‘need’ rather than just ‘desire’ then you’ve got a winning combo so those are the niches you need to go after.

For example, high fashion is a ‘desire’ niche rather than a ‘need’ based niche. So, as unglamorous as it may seem, something like the ‘how to cure acne’ or the ‘how to potty train a puppy’ niche are far more stable, lucrative niches in the long term than a desire based niche which is based more on personal opinions and consumer trends.

Here are just a few ideas that I know for a fact work and should be considered –

   

The person desperate to clear their acne The dog owner desperate to get their puppy potty trained The women who will do anything to try and get rid of cellulite The people desperate to know why they got turned down for credit (credit reports)

If you combine the desperate market place with a good product or solution and a highly targeted campaign then you will never have to worry about making money again!

There are plenty of ways to find out people’s desperate needs but one of the easiest is to simply use our good friend Google and to word our searches in a certain way. There is little need for expensive keyword finder’s or scraping tools.

To get a glimpse of how massive some of the markets are then you can simply search for the following after opening up Google search.

 “get rid of”  “how do I stop”  “how to get rid of”

So, after a quick search we can see that some of the main things that people want to get rid of and are searching for advice on are getting rid of acne, stretch marks and belly fat. This is just the top half of the first page for this search. You could find dozens of other ideas on the millions of other pages as well. Getting the just of it?

Now, let’s see what the search for “how do I stop” brings up –

You can be sure that these companies advertising ‘stop snoring’ aids are making very good money indeed. In fact, from my own personal experience, this is one of the best niches to get into because it affects so many people all over the world.

It also leads to a lot of desperate buyers who are often forced into buying stop snoring guides or devices by their partner’s who are sick of listening to them snuffle away every night! Seriously though, this is a niche you need to get into.

And here’s a screenshot to see what comes up when searching for ‘how do I get rid of’ on Google.

So, a pretty interesting selection of things that millions of people all over the world are searching for, and in many cases are desperate for solutions or cures for. Looking over the different screenshots I will list the ones I believe to have the best commercial potential.

I will then try and find the relevant affiliate offers in order to help us monetize these niches. 8

I’m sure you get the idea at this point. In a pretty short amount of time you have used a general search formula to find just a tiny sample of problems that people are desperately looking for solutions or cures for.

You could also look to use Google’s wonder wheel to get an idea of related terms as well. Here’s an example –

See the possibilities here? And this is just looking at a few big niches which took me about five minutes. I’ve already located potential goldmine’s ready to exploit.

Just by looking at that wonder wheel image you could specifically target certain phrases as a basis for website domain names and then the optimization work to follow. Not only that, but you’re also opening yourself up to the possibility of getting into dropshipping products from an e-commerce site if you can get it ranked highly on Google.

So, not only have we found desperate markets which we know have plenty of buyers, we have found related searches, affiliate offers and also niches with physical products potential. Let’s look at the dropshipping and/or physical product potential of the ‘stop snoring’ niche.

As you can see, just from one search term there’s plenty of choices if you want to go down that route. In fact, if you manage to set up a website targeting the organic searches for a few highly targeted keywords and get ranked high for it you’ve potentially got a blockbuster on your hands.

A lot of people do this and then sell it off after they’ve established a certain amount of revenue to give proof of earnings to prospective website buyers. Just take a look on certain website for sale sites at how much some of these dropshipping sites are going for. And best of all, you don’t have to buy in or store any stock. It’s a great business model to get your teeth into. 13

Up to now then we have come across some golden nuggets to get into from a digital info product medium to potential dropshipping opportunities and all at no cost whatsoever. But, there’s still plenty more ways to get even more ideas. Here’s some further guidance –

Yahoo Answers

A great way to find some more desperate niches is through the ever helpful Yahoo Answers. http://answers.yahoo.com/

You can simply browse the site to find people who have questions that relate to an obviously desperate or obsessive niche. Just use the categories to browse or search for particular niches if you’re targeting related terms and questions etc.

Yahoo answers can be such a great money maker due to the fact that the people who are taking the time to post on there are usually fairly desperate for answers and product suggestions.

Along with Yahoo Answers you should also be checking out the following in order to locate desperate niche markets – www.magazines.com www.amazon.com www.pulse.ebay.com

In fact, if you’re an Amazon affiliate, it’s a great place to not only find niches but also relevant products to promote as well. Here’s a quick snapshot of some ‘cellulite treatment’ products that you could promote. I have personal experience with this market and just like the ‘stop snoring’ niche, this is definitely one to get into. Plenty of cash to be made here.

NICHE PROFIT POTENTIAL

Once you’ve found what look like desperate niches to get into which have good profit potential, you have to be sure that you’re going to spend your time on markets that have the most potential profit and not just the ones that may or may not be worthwhile.

In order for a niche to be viable then these factors must be in place – 16

 There must be significant traffic  Has to be good commercial intent  Good monetization methods

Significant Traffic Goes without saying that without a reasonable level of traffic then there’s not much point pursuing whatever niche you’re looking at. Good ‘buying’ keywords are also important to consider, not just the generic search terms.

Commercial Intent This simply means that those people in the market must be ‘buyers’ and not just ‘browsers’. In other words, is the problem you’re selling a solution for something that people can get answer to for free online? If there is an absolute ton of free info about something then it may not have much ‘commercial intent’. This is crucial to your success when targeting these desperate niches. You have to be sure that there is solid commercial intent before spending too much time on the marketing.

The logical way to get past this obstacle is to target the buying search terms instead of the more generic ones. For example, “acne” does not have much commercial intent, but “how to treat acne” does. By doing this you are making sure you are targeting the people who are looking to buy, rather than the people who are simply looking for info.

MONETIZATION METHODS

So, we’ve found plenty of niches and products in quick timeframe so now we need to start making some cash from it. We have seen a snapshot of the products available on Clickbank and Amazon which are both great places to look for both digital and physical products to promote.

We have also had a look at the vast opportunities with dropshipping physical products relating to certain items in these desperate niches. But, there’s also CPA which can be a serious money earner if you know what you’re doing.

Here’s a look into the sorts of desperate offers that can be so lucrative when targeted correctly. These screenshots will be from the inside of Neverblue, which is one of the best networks to get into.

Below is one of the cellulite offers which is a great converter!

And here’s one for an acne product –

The acne solution above is the one that is currently advertised by the singer Katy Perry by the way. It gets loads of exposure and as you can see in the campaign details box it’s the #1 acne treatment system in the world!

The great thing about these cpa offers is that they’re physical products that directly address a desperate problem. Consider the payout on them as well. The acne offer is paying $24.00 per sale and there’s no shipping or storage to worry about. Compare that to selling an Amazon product through you affiliate link where you might get 4-6% commission on a $30 product and it’s pretty clear the sort of earning potential there is when promoting these offers. 20

Every good cpa network will have a solid selection of these sorts of desperate niche products and you’re sure to be onto a winner if you get the marketing right. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the cpa networks that are worth looking at and trying to get into if you’re not already a member -

Here’s some quick advice on how to get into these networks as some will require approval from the network managers.  Have a niche related site set up on your own domain as most applications will involve going through your landing page/website. Look to set up a site around some of these desperate niches. You know the sort; just do it like a review site for an amazon or clickbank product and that should be fine.  Know you’re traffic figures and be aware of other traffic methods that are useful for cpa advertising such as ppc, cpv, email marketing and press releases.  Be prepared for a short phone interview in some instances about how you are going to promote their offers. Tell the person who’s interviewing you that you’ve got your landing page/website set up and you’re looking to do ppc, solo ads and press releases for quicker conversions and sales.

Now, let’s get onto traffic.

TRAFFIC So, I’ve shown you the meat, now let’s get the gravy. It goes without saying that without traffic to any offer, all the niche know how in the world isn’t going to count for much is it? But, it’s not just about numbers, it’s about quality and responsiveness. In the way that all backlinks aren’t equal, neither is traffic.

Firstly, you will not need some huge budget to do any of this. I will show some ppc methods further below, but apart from that, the rest will be free so your profits are potentially going to be very high indeed. As a buyer of this guide I will show you the inside track of one of my favourite ppc platforms and just how cheap some very good keywords can be. The platform is 7search.com and it’s served me very well with affiliate marketing.

Go to www.7search.com to sign up and then there’s some verification to be done and you should then be all set. Consider some of the niches we’ve looked at so far and then just use something like the Google adwords keyword tool to get other keyword ideas. Just to show you how profitable this can be I will screenshot some keyword costs below from 7search –

Can you believe how cheap some of that traffic is? And in desperate niches where people are sitting at their computer with credit card in hand ready to buy something to try and solve their problem.

Just set up a simple landing page/review site or even direct link and you’ll be amazed at the sort of conversions you can hit.

There are of course hundreds and hundreds of terms to try and get keywords for so giving away some ideas like this isn’t exactly going to hurt anyone’s livelihood so go ahead and start targeting these keywords straight away if you like.

FREE TRAFFIC METHODS

Blog Leveraging –

If you want to set up or you have your own niche specific blogs then that’s great but you really should be considering leveraging the success of other people’s blogs to get some serious traffic and sales to your affiliate offers. In other words you need get involved in guest blogging and link baiting.

Guest Blogging This simply involves posting good quality content on high traffic getting blogs related to your own website or offer. The blog or site owner is getting unique, free content and you’re getting visitors seeing the link to your related affiliate offer or your own website where you can either capture their name and email address or try and get a sale. Here’s a quick screenshot of a search on Google which should get the ball rolling for you.

Just doing a quick search like that has yielded tons of blogs to do some guest commenting on which will lead to more traffic back to your own site or affiliate offer. Simply get in touch with the owner and ask for a blog commenting spot in exchange for your high quality, unique content and youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll get plenty agreeing to it.

These relationships need to be nurtured properly like any business relationship as a steady spot on some popular niche related blogs can get you serious amount of traffic for absolutely nothing. Imagine you get a 28

few in each niche that become long term commenting spots and you’re onto a winner I assure you.

Link Baiting Simply find a popular blog, preferably with good page rank and place a high quality, keyword rich comment on it with your affiliate link or website name as keyword related anchor text in the ‘name’ part of the blog comment field.

The hope is that you will get traffic off the visitors to the blog itself and that your post will be optimized enough to appear in the search engines and get related traffic back from that. These work particularly well with long tail keywords that directly relate to someone desperately needing a particular product or service. If your comment is of good enough quality they will hopefully click through your link and go ahead with the purchase.

Press Releases This is an absolute superb way of getting a ton of free traffic to your offers. It’s particularly useful for offers which are based on keywords which more than often have a high cost per click, such as ‘credit report’ or ‘credit repair’ etc and consequently wouldn’t be very profitable if you were running ppc campaigns for them.

First things first, go to the ‘news’ tab on Google and type in your keyword like I’ve shown below –

Notice there’s only 7 results? That’s the sort of result you want. You are targeting the ‘news’ rather than the general search which would have millions of competing pages. You should be looking to find keywords related to the product you’re selling with 10 or less results. This ensures you will get a decent amount of visitors over a couple of days before more results start showing up.

Notice I said ‘over a couple of days?’ That’s because you’re only going to be writing one article and then spinning it 20 or so times so you can keep

submitting press releases based on this keyword to the big G. This way, you have a few weeks worth of free traffic to your offer.

You can apply this formula to any offer and keyword that adheres to less than 10 results on the news results. The opportunities are almost endless with this method. Just google ‘the best spinner’ to access a great article spinner if you don’t already have the use of one.

When writing the press release please bear in mind that you need to write in the third person at all times and that it will only be up there in the news results for a few days, so just make sure you have your 20 or so versions ready so you can have a constant flow of traffic coming in.

Let’s not also forget the mighty http://www.prweb.com/ where you can hit a home run with their paid submission service. I have had some great returns on my money from the $200 press release service they offer. It was for a credit report offer and I more than doubled my money on it. If you get the wording right then you can get some very quick sales in using this paid service but the free press release traffic method outlined above is effective enough and will yield plenty of traffic.

The paid press release services are definitely worth looking at once you’ve started bringing the cash in with the free traffic methods so you get the hang of writing press releases and knowing what works and what doesn’t. If you have an amazing converting free press release then just submit that to one of the paid services if you like and see how it goes.

Overview As you can see, there’s never ending opportunities within desperate and obsessive niches. They will never go out of fashion and the demand is going to be there for a long, long time. Simply fill the demand and put your offer in front of the people who need it most.

Follow the search methods and traffic generation methods to the tee and you’ll be well on your way to some very nice commissions in due course.
