Prodo: CJ WordPress Plugin Installation Guide STEP 1: Download the Prodo plugin.

STEP 2: Login to your WordPress administrator panel and head over to the 'Plugins' section.

Click 'Add New'.

Click 'Upload'.

Click 'Browse', select the Prodo plugin archive (ZIP) file and click 'Install Now'.

Now the plugin should be installed. After activating the plugin the 'Prodo' menu should appear on the left side.

STEP 3: Before using the plugin you must register for a CJ developer key. If you already have a CJ developer key then you can skip this step. Go to: https://www.cj.com/resources/web-services.html Click 'Get Starter – Register for a Key'.

In the registration form enter your CJ account username, password and hit 'Submit'. After that CJ will send you an email with the developer key.

After you have received the developer key login to your CJ account. Go to 'Account' → 'Web site Settings'. If you don't have your website listed, please add your new website to your CJ account. Select your website from 'Select Web site' and look for 'PID' in the table.

After you have the developer key and your website ID go back to your WordPress site and open the 'Settings' section under 'Prodo'.

Please make sure you have a directory called 'go' in the root directory (where you also have the wp-config.php file) of your WordPress site. Now, copy paste your developer key and the website ID into the required fields and click 'Save Settings'.

Before we go ahead and add your advertisers, go back to your CJ account. Click 'Get Links' → 'By Relationship'. You will see a list of advertisers that have accepted you into their affiliate program. To add a advertiser to Prodo you need to know their ID. To get their ID click on your advertiser name. A new window will pop up. Looking at the address bar you will see the members.cj.com URL. The advertiser ID is the last number at the end of the URL. For example '.do?advertiserId=123456'. In our example the advertiser ID is 123456.

Now as you have your advertiser ID, go back to WordPress and click 'Advertisers' under 'Prodo'. Enter the name and ID of your advertiser and click 'Add Advertiser'.

Now you are ready to post some products from your advertisers.

STEP 4: Go to 'Products' under 'Prodo'. In this section you can search for products from your advertisers and post to your blog. You can search for products by keyword or SKU code. Tip: You can go to your advertisers homepage, look up for products that you are interested in, write down their SKU code and later search by SKU. Sometimes not all products are available in the CJ database.

Enter your keyword and hit 'Search'. Note: If you don't see any results or get an error message, that means your developer key is not working or was not copy pasted correctly. Tip: Before starting your search please make sure you have a list of categories ready where the products will be posted. You can create new categories under 'Posts' → 'Categories'.

Step 5: After hitting the 'Search' button you will see all products that are available in the CJ database.

First of all you can check products that you want to post or click 'All', that will check all products in the same page. After you have checked the products you have to select a category where each product will be posted. After you are ready to post the products just click 'Add All Selected Products'. If you want to post products one by one, then just hit the 'Add as Post' button in each product box. Don't forget to select a category first. After the product is posted you will see a 'Product posted' message instead of the 'Add as Post' button. Sometimes it may take longer time to post the product. Make sure you see the 'Product posted' message before proceeding. If there are more than 10 products found you will see the 'Next' link on the bottom of the search results box. Clicking 'Next' will load up the next set of products.

Note: If a product was already posted you will see a 'Product already posted.' message instead of the 'Add as Post' button. To remove the product from the blog you need to delete the post and 'Empty Trash'. If you don't 'Empty Trash' you will still see the product as 'Product already posted'.

STEP 6: You can change the look and feel of the post by editing the Prodo product template file. The file is located in the 'wp-content/plugins/prodo' directory. The file is called 'product_template.html'. Note: You need basic HTML knowledge to edit the template file. Basic template tags: {IMAGE} – the product image (includes the IMG tag). {DESCRIPTION} – the product description provided by CJ. {PRICE} – product price provided by CJ. {RETAILPRICE} – the retail price provided by CJ. {CURRENCY} – currency provided by CJ. {BUYURL} – product cloaked affiliate link.
