JAIME WYATT The Who

The Inspiration

I’m Jaime Wyatt, another singer/ songwriter guitar player in Los Angeles, Ca. I grew up in Washington State, in a small town called Fox Island. Wyatt is my middle name.

Inspiration is definitely a gift and a quest -- like some ethereal Easter egg hunt. Sometimes I have to be still enough to let a melody come to mind, or super fired up out on the open road. I love the forest, having grown up in the great northwest, I find the woods and water inspiring, but I rarely get to hang out in nature, so I end up getting all my wisdom from loud barrooms and long drives. When I am in Bandit Town, I get super inspired: it’s a country girls paradise.

The Why I make music cause its what my brain does. Been making up songs since I was a little kid, day dreaming in my bedroom and not much has changed! My folks are singer/ songwriters, no one of any particular fame, though my mom sang on the Porky’s Movie Soundtrack album and my dad wrote songs with Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead. So I grew up around bands, Dead shows and my family sang Fleetwood Mac songs together in the car.

Favorite Place Bandit Town, cause I always wanted to live my life like the party in Dazed & Confused.

The Vision Through songwriting and performing, I hope I can accomplish a few key things. I hope I can help people make some emotional sense of this crazy life and world we live in. I’m not political in my writing by any stretch of the imagination but its no easy existence we give to our children these days. And most importantly I think most folks, myself included, are so busy trying to pay bills and make the rent, we don’t have time to think about our emotions and they come out in road rage, bar fighting, and other crazy behaviors that everyone can understand. Maybe my involvement in music and songwriting can give people a moment to stop and be cathartic, to find their truth, their love or their path... or to simply give themselves a moment of pleasure and joy. Music has saved my life and I think it saves many other lives. so yeah, I guess I think I am pretty damn important. haha.

BANDIT BRAND The Beginning I had a vintage shop/boutique in Long Beach, CA and sold vintage t-shirts and other peoples t-shirts and was having trouble finding good vintage once it got so popular and also trouble finding t-shirt brands to carry so I sort of combined my love for vintage t-shirts into making a line that was nostalgic and felt like vintage t-shirts but was accessible to everyone.

The Goods I make T-shirts, Tank Tops and other Cotton Tops.

The Inspiration Music, The Country, The West, Traveling

The Vision I just want to make a living doing what I like and working for myself. I spent a lot of years working for other people and I am so grateful to have that chance and also help provide a living for other friends that help me and provide a home for wayward animals. I have low standards and am low maintenance so even if it gets slow in the future I am good at downgrading : )

RAZIMUS JEWELRY The Beginning

The Goods

Razimus Jewelry started after a move from Boston and a need to create and get out of the corporate world. I’ve always loved big, bold jewelry, stacking & layering up lots of bracelets, but they just weren’t comfortable and half way through the day they’d end up in a pile on my desk. With my background in fashion design, branding and fine jewelry corporate social responsibility, I made the leap to go out on my own and put these past experiences to work and build a brand of sustainable fabric jewelry that was not only comfortable to wear but is ethically made & eco-friendly. All Razimus Jewelry designs are hand made near Saratoga Springs, NY supporting local artisans and small business to produce and source materials for the collections.

Razimus Jewelry is eco-designed sustainable fabric jewelry made from organic cottons, plant-dyed silks, or upcycled or vintage fabrics or deconstructed garments. Stack up an armful of the bracelets and they won’t weigh you down; mix prints and colors & have fun with your jewelry! The neck-to-wristwear design can be worn as a wrap bracelet or necklace, and comes in two lengths and three styles. Who doesn’t love versatility. And let’s not forget about the statement necklaces, lightweight and add a pop of texture and color to any outfit! I love what I do, I hope to empower my customers to stand out and showcase their unique styles.

The Inspiration The new WANDERER COLLECTION 2015 captures the strength and soul of the wanderer. A “wanderer” is someone who is independent, confident, embraces change and adventure. The goal is for this collection to be a reminder to never stop being curious, dreaming big, and going on new adventures. It is inspired by strong, unique, and talented women (all styles are named after our favorite female musicians) who aren’t afraid to follow their own path like you!

The Vision I aim to challenge traditional jewelry design by using sustainable fabrics to create unique & eco-conscious designs that are lightweight, and also to build strong brand recognition as Razimus Jewelry grows.

Currently obsessed with Elle King, Kat Wright and Sylvan Esso! I am totally inspired by strong female musicians, so much so that I name all of my designs after them. My playlist features some of my favorite songs from the diverse mix of talented women who’s names are all part of my latest collection, THE WANDERER COLLECTION.

TOPANGA PATINA The Beginning

The Goods

I started working on my own pieces about 2 years ago experimenting with scrap metal and found objects. Currently I am a full time Etsy shop owner of Topanga Patina metal art. I am also currently working on my upcoming art show “Urban Patina” at the Vapegoat which opens on Dec. 12th in Los Angeles. When I have some spare time I work on my concept pieces that I sell on saatchiart.com. I also find myself doing a lot of custom work.

I create a variety of garden sculptures made from steel and scrap metal welded into agaves, saguaro cactus, barrel cactus, ocotillos and many other types of plants, mainly tropical and desert varieties. I also make a variety of animals made from beer and liquor bottles , rocks and metal. Most of my work is rusty with hints of contrasting paint that bleeds through the various patinas but many are just rusty. For my personal concepts sculptures I like to blend urbanization and nature and hints of street graffiti. I like to make sculptures that represent facets of life in Los Angeles, present and future. I feel that rust tells a story and since all my pieces are hand made to order I follow no patterns its all eyeballed giving each piece its own unique character, a sort of history. I especially am a fan of recycling metal, bottles or any other found objects I can utilize into works, I get down with my scrap pile when I’m feeling creative.

The Inspiration Lots of my inspiration comes from where I live in Topanga overlooking the SFV and out to the Chatsworth hills. The hot desert like landscape with its native plants inspire me through there resilience and self reliance. Thats one of the main reasons I decided to make cactus varieties versus flowers. There is a mystical quality to the desert and its plants that have always drawn me. Many of these plants even have medicinal uses.

The Vision I want my art to represent the endurance and self reliance of nature and to respect it and take care of it and perhaps use a little less and only what you need. The Saguaro cactus uses very little and makes due and stands strong defending itself against invaders with its sharp needles.! Art is all around and can even be made from scraps and discarded stuff, you just need to look. I want my art to convey the message of “use what’s already around.
