are you ready
we want to invite you to the spring excursion and first one for this semester. It is going to take place in the North of Bulgaria. We will cross north-west part of the country up to the Danube River. We will see one of the oldest capitals in Bulgaria from the second kingdom. There are lots of interesting sights, places and even one of the most famous caves in Bulgaria.
Programme 20.03.Friday 08:30h – departure from Sofia 11:00h – visit of Ledenika cave 13:30h – visit of Vratza center 17:00h – arrival in the hotel in Vidin 20:30h – Dinner time - meeting in front of the hotel. if you want an organized restaurant for everybody just tell us in the bus 22:30h –party time 01:00h – the night has just begun
Programme 21.03.saturday 07:30h – we are still returning from the last night disco 08:00h – some people are going to sleep, others still no…. 11:30h – Baba Vida fortress in Vidin Danube river Magura cave – one of the biggest caves in Europe. meeting in front of the hotel and please be on time 20:00h – Organized restaurant 01:00h – Party time
Programme 22.03.sunday 11:00h – we have to get up but almost everybody is sleeping 11:30h – if we do not get up the women cleaning the rooms will throw us out of bed 12:00h – visit of the fortress of Belogradchik 15:30h – departure for Sofia 19:00h – arrival in Sofia

About the places Vratsa The town of Vratsa is one of the most picturesque cities in the country. It is nestled in the foothills of “Vrachanska Planina�, with the Leva river calmly crossing the town and with fearful rocks overhanging the roofs. The name of the town of Vratsa itself comes from the name of the spectacular gorge Vratsata (the Door) on Leva river.
About the places Baba vida The Babini Vidini Kuli fortress, also known as Baba Vida Fortress is situated on an area of 9.5 decares on the bank of the river Danube, in the northern part of Vidin. According to a legend, Vida had been the eldest daughter of a wealthy Bulgarian boyar. Due to the unsuccessful marriages of her sisters – Kula and Gamza, Vida rejected all of the proposals for marriage, built the castle and remained in it for the rest of her life.
About the places magura cave The Magura Cave began to take shape about 15 million years ago. In one of the caverns prehistoric paintings have been discovered, carved into the walls and decorated with bat guano (droppings). The paintings date from different eras – the early Paleolithic, the Neolithic, the later Neolithic, and the beginning of the Bronze Age. A solar calendar from the late Neolithic found there is the earliest solar calendar discovered in Europe.
About the places ledenika cave Ledenika Cave is situated in the territory of Vrachanski Balkan Natural Park. The cave is situated 830 m above the sea level in the north-west Stresherski section of the Vratsa mountain. Its name, Ledenika, comes from the icy stalagmites, stalactites and columns, which are formed during the winter at the beginning of the cave near the entrance. There is a small, shallow sinter lake, which according to a belief fulfills the desire of everyone who puts their hand in it.
About the places belogradchik The fortress has existed since Roman times. In 1st – 3rd century AD the Romans built roads in the new provinces of the empire on the Balkan peninsula, as well as fortresses to guard them. ITS mission was to control the road from the town of Ratsiaria.The Romans constructed the highest part of the fortress, called The Citadel. The highest point of the fortress, called First Slab, reveals a beautiful view towards the Balkan.
