Summer Reading Clubs are for everyone!
This year at the Library you can find a summer reading club that’s just right for you. We have our annual TD Summer Reading Club for youth, the Teen Reads Bingo Challenge, and the Adult Summer Reading Club. Read on to find out more about each club on Page 2.
Celebrating Canada’s 150th
This summer we’re celebrating Canada’s 150th with the launch of two events. Canada Day Through the Years runs from June 30th to July 8th and will showcase how Cobourg celebrated Canada Day from 1867 to 2016. We’ve collected articles, photos, and advertising from our local papers and local history resources to display in our Rotary Room. Come by any time that the Library is open between June 30th and July 8th to take it all in. The Cobourg 150 Challenge launches on July 19th and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ve compiled a list of 150 books by Canadian authors, and we’re challenging you to read as many of these as you can in 150 days. Write a review for each book you read from the list and post it to our Cobourg 150 Challenge app (see the back page of this guide for more information), and be entered for a weekly prize, as well as our grand prize draw. The grand prize is a gift package valued at $150 - full of great Canadian swag. The challenge ends on December 15th - how many books do you think you will read?
