Welcome to the Summer Reading Club!

Here’s what you need to know: This summer is looking a lot different for us but we still want to make reading fun!

This booklet allows you to track your reading throughout the summer and be entered into a draw for a great prize. The more you read, the more entries you get!

At the end of the summer, you will submit the completed passport and be entered into a draw to win a gift basket filled with items from local businesses. *Later in the summer we will let you know how to submit the completed passport.

On the back page of this passport, we’ve included information for our weekly virtual programs—including storytimes, crafts, Summer STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Projects and more. Check them out!

Participation in these programs gives you additional entries into the draw.

Virtual programs are free online activities that are shared on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and on our ‘Home for Coronavirus’ webpage (www.kawarthalakeslibrary.ca/homeforcoronavirus).

Here’s how you get draw entries for the prize: 1.

Read at least 5 days of the week, by yourself or with an adult. That will give you one entry per week. You need to read for at least 15 minutes a day to complete the task!

2.

Complete the additional challenges listed at the bottom of each page. You will get one draw entry for each successful completion.

Parents: Please record when your child successfully read for 15 minutes each day using the boxes provided on each page.
