: h t wi PINWHEEL WINDMILL YOU WILL NEED: pinwheel template thin dowel or skewer straw 2 beads binder clip

tape scissors string 2 paper cups

WHAT TO DO:

This is the last project of the summer. We hope that you had fun! This week's recommended read:

1. Poke a hole through each dot on the pinwheel template 2. Cut out the square and then cut along the diagonal lines towards the centre. Make sure to stop where the line stops 4. Thread a small dowel or skewer through the centre hole 5. Bend over (but don’t fold down) each corner marked with a circle 6. Thread the dowel through each circle 7. Thread a bead on either end of the dowel, adjust until pinwheel is tight 7. Tape the tip of the dowel to stop the front bead from moving 8. Feed the long end of the dowel into the straw 9. Hold onto the straw and blow into the pinwheel!

STEAM THINGS UP:

Turn your pinwheel into a windmill!

1. Trim the straw so that about 3 cm of the dowel sticks out 2. Secure the straw to the bottom of the cup with tape 3. Poke 2 holes on opposite sides of the small cup 4. Thread the string through the two holes in the small cup 5. Tie the ends of the string to the end of the dowel 6. Secure the binder clip to the end of the dowel 7. Blow the pinwheel - the string should wind up, lifting the small cup Place objects in the small cup and see what you can lift. Try placing the pinwheel in front of a fan
