Program Information The City of Peterborough is proud to offer a variety of summer camps for children of all ages and abilities. With so many choices, summer has never been this much fun!

Monthly payment plans are available to families registered for summer day camps and instructional sports camps provided by the Recreation Services Division. Complete full payment prior to camp start with convenient monthly payments. Call 705-7420050 for more information.

Summer Camp Member Discounts •

Recreation Services Division Registration fee discounts are available to campers who are part of a current PSWC Family or One-Adult Family Membership at the time of registration(s), and the membership must remain valid through the duration of the camp program(s). The difference in pricing will not be provided as a credit at a later date.

Art Gallery of Peterborough A registration fee discount of 10% is available to campers who have an active membership with the Art Gallery of Peterborough.

Recreation Fee Subsidy The City of Peterborough offers a Recreation Fee Subsidy Program. This program assists low-income families and families receiving social assistance with registration costs for recreational programs offered by the City or other organizations within the City limits including but not limited to; sports activities, and aquatic programs and camps for dependent children under the age of 19 years. The maximum subsidy per child is $100 or $200 per year depending on the low-income cut off per household. Applicants are required to be residents within the City of Peterborough. Withdrawals, Refunds and Transfers Art Gallery of Peterborough Refund requests are accepted prior to camp start dates and are charged an administration levy of 10% of the program fee or $10, whichever is greater. Refunds are not provided once the program starts unless accompanied by a medical note approved by the Program Supervisor or Manager designate; refund requests are approved solely by the Program Supervisor. Programs may be substituted or cancelled in the event of an emergency or insufficient program registration; full refunds or credits will be given for program cancellation only. Pending availability, transfer requests will be accepted and approved at no charge.

Recreation Services Division Program withdrawal requests are subject to a 15% administration fee prior to June 15th for July camp programs, or July 15th for August camp programs. Refunds are not given after cut-off deadlines without approval of the online form request and accompanying medical documentation by the Program Supervisor. ALL requests for program transfers are subject to a 15% administration fee.

Release, Waiver & Indemnity The Participant (or parent or guardian if Participant is under the age of 18) voluntarily assumes any risk of injury or damage in connection with the use of services and facilities, and releases, discharges, and agrees to indemnify and save harmless the City of Peterborough and its employees, agents, and volunteers from any liability, claim, demand, or cost whatsoever incurred arising out of the participation of the Participant in the program at the facility.

Photo Waiver During the course of programs or activities, photos, audio or video may be taken of facilities and participants. The City of Peterborough reserves the right to use all materials for promotional purposes.

What to Bring Please bring a daily lunch, snacks, drinks, water bottle, running shoes, sunscreen and hat (or weather-suitable outdoor clothing and footwear), swim gear or sporting equipment where required, and a smile. Please leave nuts and nut products, personal toys, electronic devices, and valuables at home. Personal items should be labelled with a first name and last initial; camp facilities and staff are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Camper Drop-off & Pick-up Caregivers are required to check-in with camp staff each morning and evening. If an alternative adult will be picking up your child, they must be listed on camper information forms or camper questionnaires. If a child does not arrive at camp, staff will follow-up with caregivers when applicable. If your child will be absent please advise staff in advance, or before 9 am on the day of absence.

Swim Screening PSWC | Peterborough Naval Memorial Park Mandatory aquatic evaluation of each camper’s swimming ability is performed by the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre’s and Recreation Services aquatic staff. Wrist bands, water wings, or lifejackets may be assigned to the camper for the duration of the program.

Special Needs Campers If your child requires assistance with participation (behavioural, cognitive, physical, etc.) an adult shall be provided by the family to support your child’s experience at camp. Contact the program supervisor to discuss your child’s needs. We encourage positive and cooperative play, ensuring all campers have a rewarding camp experience. Bullying is not tolerated, and campers are encouraged to behave appropriately while in the care of the program.

Summer Camp Lunch Program The Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre offers a pizza lunch program on Fridays for campers enrolled in a PSWC summer day camp that coincides with the date of the lunch. Arts Camps Art Attack

Girls on Fire

Challenge your inner artist and expand your artistic world during this amazing week full of creativity. Using various art mediums, campers will experience opportunities to expand their creative side through hands-on art projects, games, crafts, and activities. Their master pieces will be on display for a weekending show for families and friends on the Friday.

This camp will impart our “Triple E Effort” with activities that will Encourage, Engage and Empower the young female registrants to participate, learn the skills , and have the confidence to continue to be involved in activity, art or sport in their future. Activities will vary and include arts, sport, leadership, sci-tech, and so much more.

Mini Tennis Camp

Peterborough City Soccer Club and the City of Peterborough Recreation Services Division is pleased to offer fun soccer camps for youth age 5-12 and all skill levels. Working with the OSA LongTerm Player Development model, full day camps include visiting Roger’s Cove Park for splash pad fun and other activities.

The Quaker Tennis Club in partnership with the City of Peterborough Recreation Services Division is happy to offer instructional tennis programs to beginners. Learn basic tennis skills with low compression balls, lower nets, and smaller courts. Lessons are Monday to Thursday for 1 hour a day. Friday will be used as a rain date if needed. Racquets are available for use if needed. This program is a maximum of eight kids per group with two instructors for a ratio of 4:1.

Summer Leadership Leadership in Training Program Learn leadership skills and team-building techniques, explore children’s camp programming and their challenges, develop initiative and experience, and become eligible for volunteer positions to obtain community hours within the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre day camp programs upon successful completion of this volunteer development and training program.
