I am an artist… Driven by passion, seized by obsession, delighted by creation, enthralled with expression, entranced by vision, diverted by daydreams, filled with emotions, fueled by compulsion, consumed with beauty, and blindsided by inspiration.
Ms. Muiño believes that design has the power to transform lives and improve communities and that the key to great design is capturing the spirit of the client and the essence of the spaces while respecting our environment by following the principles of sustainable and universal design. She also thinks that education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world. She believes that design and education are a beautiful combination. She started her practice as an architect before graduation in the Design Department at UCV. Her practice had
included collaborations on housing and private residences, small galleries, schools, and some planning and environmental projects. During her college years in 1991, with the help of a group of students, she founded “Entre Rayas” a magazine dedicated to architecture, planning, and interior design, which is currently over 28 years old! In 1992, she got married and moved to Florida. After 25 years of marriage and three wonderful, lovely and gorgeous daughters, she had raised a family. She dedicated those years to teaching her kids how to succeed in life, be happy and be good human beings. Now that they have the tools to survive, she is ready to start again.
The beginning wasn't easy. At her age, it is not common for people to be in college studying for a new degree. Society puts up barriers for people to succeed, and people make excuses not to go back, as we think it is too late. It’s never too late to pursue your education. It had been more than 20 years since her last formal schooling, but she had decades of life experience to draw on which provided her with a strong foundation for academic success. Her Master's degree in Interior Architecture invigorated her love for the practice and encouraged her to strive for excellence for the rest of her life. She held a 4.0 GPA, was on the Dean's list, and earned many awards that demonstrate her ability to design. Has it been challenging? Yes. Worthwhile? Hell yes. It helps that her personal standards are in sync with the university's high bar. She is living proof that it is never too late to effectively pursue your education.
Movement
The purpose of this project was to design a boutique hostel in the Freedom Tower located in downtown Miami. The idea was to create spaces with environments that reflect the idiosyncrasy of the area. Interior spaces of this boutique hotel are unique, combining historic details, art and sustainability with chic elegance. Raices is an extension of the unique personality of the Miami Beach area. Trees in nature are the simple producers of life. They harvest the energy of the sun, seize carbon, make oxygen and recover nutrients from water in constant movement. Roots covered with soil absorb the necessary moisture and nutrients. Birds nest and feed in the building’s green footprint. Briefly, they are a life support system in harmony with energy, human spirit and other live creatures. Just as with the trees, every space was designed to be in an infinite affinity with each other. The composition was developed with organic, biodegradable and green materials as the life cycle of the tree can be reused and recycled into new products. A healthful interior environment can even improve the outdoor environment. Art, history, and culture celebrate the diversity providing not just one design space but many. Natural colors and textures helped to enhance the beauty of the spaces. Like birds on a tree, spaces and people feed the life system maintaining the kinship of the building.

Style Walking into a hotel lobby is like shaking the hand of someone you just met. It's all about the first impression. The Raices lobby creates a refuge for the tourist, for the business traveler, for the couple enjoying a weekend getaway. Raices blends the best of form and function - anticipates the needs of its guests and introduces a sense of style. Within moments of entering Raices Luxury Hostel, guests brand the hostel as trendy, chic, cheap, and luxurious.
Identity
As the popularity of using computers for everything continues to increase, people without their own computers, business travelers and those on vacations need to use computers more and more. An Internet cafĂŠ is a great solution for a hostel. Raices CafĂŠ is a wonderful combination of beautiful spaces where you can enjoy a good coffee in good company and at the same time establishing virtual communication. Raices CafĂŠ is a very comfortable space that can provide to the travelers a little taste of the traditions, culture and city colors of the historic heart of Miami.
Like most working hotel gardens, the Raices Rooftop Garden-in-the air is off-limits to guests. But you can see its progress daily – and nightly – on the rooftop webcam, which beams onto fruits, vegetables and herbs as they bloom on the hotel’s 3rd floor. The garden blossomed into 8 planter boxes and four big barrels, yielding eye-catching crops of arugula, lettuce, tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini and peppers as well as herbs like basil, thyme, oregano, cilantro and mint. You can really taste the difference between tomatoes grown in a greenhouse and tomatoes grown up here. “You can’t get more local than this.”

Pure space reflection... Spaces created by Marching Order, Frames, Slats, Articulation and Hierarchies. Spatial continuity between spaces will be created by piercing them with wide openings and brightness. At their interface, these spaces have a theatrical quality. As such, the viewer is allowed to ‘journey’ through the space creating a spatial continuum of the metallic layered planes-spaces. Floating spaces distinct in outline and detail are clearly defined. This reiterates the notion of transparency as a seeing- or passing-through, that is, a course, a penetration, or a passing through of the gaze.

The mission is to create an optimal patient experience promoting the continuous interaction and integration of the healthcare providers and the patients in the Emergency Department. By using what we refer to as “TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE,” we illustrate the power of teamwork making the difference in every patient’s health. We aim to promote positive PERCEPTION, REACTION, ORGANIZATION & INTERACTION in a social exchange and among all users in this Emergency Department. “TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE” Based on the nursing theory from I.M King in order to achieve the optimal ED practice.

A comfortable multi-use piece of furniture to sit, lay down and relax on in front of your pool, filling your patio with elegance and personality.
Inspired by the Egyptian pyramids that represent the sense of harmony and unity within ourselves and with the environment, this piece was created to make you feel as special, important and comfortable as a pharaoh.
A healthy home starts with a healthy environment. When it comes to eco-friendlier furnishings, we are integrating sustainable elements into this beautiful piece of outdoor furniture. We are using reclaimed/recycled timber that has been treated for outdoors for the frame, Canvas Fiber for the cushion and Drain Dry Outdoor Natural Latex Foam (sap of a rubber tree) for the cushion stuffing. The design of this beautiful piece is making it functional, affordable, beautiful and most importantly environmentally sustainable.

Design must be functional, and functionality must be translated into visual aesthetics without any reliance on gimmicks that have to be explained.
Inspired by a designer and using his design philosophy, we had to create a birdhouse: a cute, decorative, whimsical creation that appeals to humans, and a functional nesting box that the birds will actually use.
In life, as in art, beauty moves in curves. Beauty is power and elegance, right action, form fitting function, intelligence and reasonability. And very often expressed in curves.
MORE THAN A SERVING CART Inspired by the project “A Modern & Organic Sun-room I had to create a serving cart: a functional, efficient, safe and reliable cart, that appeals to users. And at the same time an attractive art piece to targeted consumers.

To provide an unique experience by designing a sustainable Holistic Care Center inside of the existing hotel The Edition, located in Miami Beach, Florida, which will welcome local residents and guests from the hotel to be treated with relaxing and healing treatments that will allow them to relieve stress and enhance their quality of life. The Holistic Care Center will also give them a better understanding of a healthy lifestyle, and the importance of promoting sustainable practices.
“Being & Doing” Rational Versus Paradoxical Healing: Based on the “Doing” and “Being” Therapies from Holistic philosophy, theories, and ethics. Available at: http//www.dosseydossey.com/Barbara/pdf/DosseyIntegral_Nursing_HN_6th_ed.pdf. All healing experiences or activities can be arranged along a continuum from the rational domain to the paradoxical domain. The degree of doing and being involved determines these domains. Rational healing experiences include those therapies or events that make sense to our linear, intellectual thought processes, whereas paradoxical healing experiences include healing events that may seem absurd or contradictory but are, in fact, true.
