Setting the context Nationally •

As part of Every Child Matters and National Strategies there is major, whole school focus on enhancing provision for Gifted and Talented children and young people Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) uses the following definitions : Gifted - students who have the ability to excel academically in one or more subjects such as English, Drama, Technology Talented – students who have the ability to excel in practical areas such as Art and Design, Music, PE, or performing arts such as Dance

Talent Lincolnshire - Outcomes Enhanced opportunities for physical activity : The National Context Public Service Agreement (PSA) and the White Paper Two key aims : Increase the percentage of 5-16 year olds participating in at least two hours per week of high-quality PE and sport at school and the percentage of 5-19 year olds participating in at least three further hours per week of sporting opportunities. Ensure all pupils go to a school that promotes their health and wellbeing
