Hi, we’re FEATHR. We create wallpaper that’s art. This means we don’t do things the way that other wallpaper companies do. And we don't work with the types of artists that other wallpaper companies work with. We believe that we're surrounded by under-exposed artistic talent (you). Our aim is to unearth it and give it a new canvas. Together, we can create a new wallpaper collection that's art and not decoration.
Brief. Make wallpaper that’s art. We want you to lift wallpaper out of the decoration ghetto and turn it into art. Decoration matches the carpet. Art blows minds.
You. Do you. That’s what we want. We want your fresh and original take on wallpaper.
Them. Think about your customer. Stylish homeowners who want something unique on their walls. They want something they love and can talk about.
Themes. If you need a starting point, check out these inspiration themes. Use them to find a mood for your work. But don’t treat them as a must do.
Pop Modern. Bold stripes, geometric repeats, big colour and unusual subject matter. Play with the medium and create something jaw dropping.
Romantic. Export us to a mood of lush softness and luxury. Take us to a secret garden. Don’t be afraid of florals, colour and all things pretty.
Natural world. Embrace the textures of nature. Stone, wood, marble. Forests, oceans, rivers, animals. Bring the outdoors indoors.
Figurative. Show us the world as it is. Put the real world onto wallpaper. We want to see artistry and originality of subject matter.
How. Submit stunning design at FEATHR.com. The FEATHR community & team vote on them. The best will go on sale at FEATHR.com and retailers around the world. And as we print digitally, on-demand, it means there are almost no limits to your colours or ideas.
Earn. There are 10 x openings for artists to join our 2016/17 roster. Each artist who is selected for one of these roster places will be paid a $500 cash fee for their work. All artists whose work is printed and sold receive 5% royalties, based on net revenue.
Rules. All artwork must be your own original work and not infringe any copyrights. The final decision on which work goes on sale and the roster places are made by the FEATHR team. Design specs & tips. Create an artwork that can be used as a repeating design for a 50cm x 10m wallpaper roll. The roll width is 50 cm. This is the horizontal repeat of the artwork. The roll length is 10m, so your vertical repeat has no other limitations than looking good on a wall. N.B. For ease when hanging, we recommend keeping the vertical repeat to under 100cm. Repeats can be: straight matches, offset matches (half, quarter or third drop) or mirrors. N.B. For ease when hanging, we recommend free matches.
