I am really pleased with the progress I have made so far on my website. I feel the aesthetic best reflects me and my work as a passionate and versatile creative and despite it being a little incomplete at this stage – it is so close to being ready for launch and with a few more tweeks should be ready for July exhibitions. Once it is complete and online, I look forward to directing potential clients, agents and practitioners to my site where they will be able to engage and see for themselves who and what I am all about.

Strengths: The best part of my site is the usability which is all thanks to my dad and his in depth knowledge of how website work. Each tile on the land “portfolio” page of my site direct the viewer to a project page where a show reel displays my work for that specific project. I feel this is clean and concise and gives the right impression to whoever is looking through my work and wishes to have a better understanding of the project as a whole and my individual approach to creative thinking and visual communication. Weaknesses: An obvious one – the site isn’t live yet, however for fear of ruining all the hard work and preparation I am overall happy I haven’t rushed it and look forward to having it ready to go live ASAP. LAUIL602 Professional Practice Jessica Dawson JD255593 Despite needing to take a little break for social media for health reasons, I have maintained a healthy engagement with my professional LinkedIn profile, continuing to see the benefits of this platform for engaging in the creative community, the illustration industry and for promoting myself as a practitioner.
In completing this module and my degree as a whole, I now feel in a much more confident position where my creative practice is concerned and look forward to continuing to engage with social media platforms and getting my work out there. It is important to have a name, face and personality online to accompany my work and through social platforms I hope to gain interest and future job opportunities as a freelance creative practitioner.
