THE TERROIR

Located in a micro-valley crossed by the river Arga, in Navarra’s Ribera Alta district, some 275 Ha are under vine with soils composed of sand and silt, which are well drained and contribute finesse and elegance to the resulting wines. The grapes are cultured at an altitude between 300 and 480m, permitting the preferred varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Garnacha, Graciano, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to be grown under optimal conditions.

A FAMILY AFFAIR

A family business, which has revived the name of a vineyard where their ancestors grew vines a century ago, the current production process is ultra-modern with a spacious bodega housing state-of-the-art equipment and a capacity to hold over 4 million litres of wine. Visitors can arrange to tour the installation and particularly impressive is the cask room, housing 3,000 barrels of French and American oak.

THE MISSION

From the outset, the aim has been to produce and market exemplary red, white and rosé wines which exhibit character and personality. These have garnered them widespread recognition and appreciation throughout Europe, America and Asia. To achieve and maintain this, utmost care is taken with the land, the harvesting, and throughout the entire production process, and Bodega Inurrieta only employs grapes grown in their own vineyards.

THE WINES

The full range encompasses 13 distinct wines, comprising seven reds, four whites and two rosés. These are, correspondingly, the Inurrietas Norte, Sur, Cuatrocientos, Puro Vicio, Altos de Inurrieta, Laderas de Inurrieta and Mimao Tinto, the Inuriettas Intacta, Orchídea, Orchídea Cuvée, and Mimao Blanco, and Inurietta Coral and Mediodía.

REWARDING RECOGNITION

Bodega Inurrieta has been a regular entrant at the annual Challenge International Du Vin held in France, considered the most rigorous, impartial and esteemed wine competition in the world and it is a consistent winner, achieving multiple Gold and Silver medals during recent years, with three Golds and one Silver in 2021. They also hold the distinction of being the only Spanish bodega to be regaled with five gold medals at this year’s prestigious Mundus Vini competition in Germany.

SUMMER RECOMMENDATIONS

Consequently, with this level of pedigree, it behoves all lovers of wine to seek out and taste some of these award-winning products. We suggest starting with their Orchidea, which has achieved Gold medals at both of the above competitions and the Coral which has a Gold from the Challenge International Du Vin and a Silver from the Mundus Vini.

CORAL

100% Sauvignon Blanc, it has been described as “…a noble halo of aromatic complexity. A fairy-tale wine”. Bright, crystalline yellow, this is a very fine Sauvignon Blanc, which delivers on its promise. Pineapple, passion fruit and grapefruit combine in a nose, which is reinforced by a tremendously smooth finish in the mouth. 13% volume.

ORCHÍDEA

90% Garnacha and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibiting a pale pink coral colour. On the nose, it is delicate and elegant with aromas of pink grapefruit and white peach, while in the mouth it caresses with a silky texture, inviting you to try it over and over again. 13.5% volume.
