THE TRIALS OF LIFE: A NATURAL HISTORY OF ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR BY DAVID ATTENBOROUGH

The Trials of Life is the third, and final, instalment in David Attenborough’s Life series. Life on Earth dealt with evolution, Living Planet covered ecology, and now The Trials of Life deals with ethology, which is the study of how animals behave, and why. The book is divided into twelve chapters and Attenborough uses a host of intriguing animals to exemplify each chapter theme. From birth to death, the trials and tribulations the animals face at each point of their lives, and the way the animals respond, is explained with fascinating insight and wonderful photographs. As he said himself, “This is, quite simply, the best thing I’ve ever done,” and who are we to argue with David Attenborough.

Baldacci is back with the latest instalment in his hugely popular Amos Decker series. Amos Decker is blessed, or cursed, with a perfect memory.
