To change the plot scale click on the edit button

3

3D Design Procedures & Practice

Make sure that scale is 1:1 mm if so then paper space should be ok.

4

3D Design Procedures & Practice Location plan

I got an image of the location plan from Blackboard and I imported it into Auto Cad. Floor plan

I started drawing the floor plan here. As you can see I was still trying to workout where things go and if the measurements were right.

5

3D Design Procedures & Practice Doors

The measurements looked fine so I went on to the doors. I drew a small box, line and a circle to create the door. Trim tool

I trimmed the unwanted parts of the circle

6

3D Design Procedures & Practice

Mirror tool

I followed the same process to draw the double doors but this time I did not trim anything.

After I mirrored the door I then trimmed the excess off both doors.

Completed Floor Plan

I noticed that some of my measurements were wrong, so I went back to the site to double-check them.

Extend EX – Keyboard shortcut To Execute • Select object(s) or (select all)

Enter or spacebar • (Fence/Crossing/Project/Edge/Undo) •

At this point I simply selected the objects that I wanted to extend by drawing a green box around them from right – left.

Rails

Drawing steps I changed the color of the stairs so that I could see them better.

14

3D Design Procedures & Practice Array AR – Keyboard shortcut I created a path array

This toolbar enabled me to edit the path.

The hotgrips enabled me to move the steps

3D Design Procedures & Practice Isometric drawing To set isometric mode: • •

Right click on the grid in the status bar Click on settings

This box should appear

18

3D Design Procedures & Practice •

Choose Isometric snap

Another way of doing this is by right clicking on ‘object snap’ in the status bar, settings and then ‘snap and grid’. Lift

Drawn using polyline

3D Design Procedures & Practice Drawing walls

Drawing window

I made a mistake with the measurements when drawing this wall. I realized later on and drew it again at the correct size.

Extending line

20

3D Design Procedures & Practice Trimming & Extending

I trimmed the lines I did not need and extended the wall. The result is show below

21

3D Design Procedures & Practice

Fillet: Fire door F – Keyboard shortcut

22

3D Design Procedures & Practice Array of windows Fillet using radius

I used the fillet to round off the edges of the windows

23

3D Design Procedures & Practice Completed array of windows

Landing leading to second floor

24

3D Design Procedures & Practice Steps

Rails: Ground floor

I started drawing the rails here

25

3D Design Procedures & Practice

I used the same method as I did for the long section when drawing the rails.

2. Select object from right to left

3. RO – Rotate to 45 degrees and make sure cursor is on the right. A preview of the image should appear.

28

3D Design Procedures & Practice

4. Drawing line to make wall Copy I can copy and paste to save time.

29

3D Design Procedures & Practice

The windows, doors and rails were the last things that I did in this drawing because they had more details. The Axonometric so far

30

3D Design Procedures & Practice Trimming

I trimmed overlapping area’s in this case the windows. Completed Axonometric
