What I expect to achieve: I expect to have done some initial concept sketches for the model and to have at least two sketches drawn in my journal. What have I achieved? I did a few sketches in Tuesday lessons after making some models out of paper, blocks of wood and BBQ sticks. I made different forms with these materials and used that to inspire my design process. I also completed some notes that I was doing about ‘Sketch Up’ for ‘Establishing Professional Practice’. Did I visit any galleries to further my knowledge? I did not go to any galleries this week but during my lunch break on Monday, I took a stroll around the campus just looking for things that might interest me. I came across two sculptures, which I then drew in my sketchbook journal. What do I think/feel about my achievements? I am fairly satisfied with what I have done so far but I feel like I need to do more sketches for the model. There are no limitations to what I can design so I should take advantage of that and make something unique. What did I learn this week I experimented with different materials to create designs, which I later sketched. This was quite refreshing. I also learn how to layout orthographic drawings after my lecturer’s demonstration using a box. What will I do next...? I will continue sketching and then I can start making my model if everything goes as planned.
