The project consists on the design of a new university campus in the city northwest, close to the Port Harcourt international airport. The university is part of the Urban Development Plan for the city, whose promoter is the State Government of Rivers State, Nigeria. Esteyco, as a collaborator of the Angel Asenjo studio, designed the construction projects of structures of singular buildings such as the library, the church, the multi-use hall, among others, and a six level accommodation building. The construction plot of ≈170 ha where the campus will be located is already under the first phase of the construction process, and according to the “Master Plan” the rest of the phases will be developed afterwards. The construction area of ≈700,000m2 , is divided in 87 buildings of several different sizes and shapes. Different typologies are developed, being the predominant theme the reinforced concrete beams and post tensioned flagstones, sometimes combined with metal profile modulus, creating combined framings (concrete and steel). The Rector and Conference buildings are designed with more complex and expensive enclosures, with metal sheets of titanium or galvanized steel.

The DS3 Deep Space Antenna design and construction was comissioned by the European Space Agency, ESA, near Malargテシe, in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. With the existing facilities in New Norcia (Australia) and Cebreros (テ」ila) the new facility will complete the system which receives signals sent by satellites that explore Mars, Venus and other planets of our Solar System. The sensitivity of the electronic equipment conceived by Canadian engineering firm SED-Systems stricltly limited the displacements of the pedestal for the parabolic antenna, 35 m in diameter, that was built in Germany by Vertex Antennentechnik. The antenna and pedestal were made to withstand winds of up to 80 km/h without exceeding rotations of 1/82,500 radians, which is the equivalent to movements at the head of the pedestal of 0.075 mm. The structure is dimensioned to withstand winds of up to 180 km/h and seismic accelerations of 0.4g.

The Sant Antoni Market is located in the heart of Barcelona, occupying one complete city block of Cerda’s Ensanche situated between the Paral·lel and the Raval neighborhood. The current Market building is shaped like a cross whose limbs are arranged in a north-south and east-west direction occupying the block’s diagonals. The structure of the limbs, which are 20 meters wide, is made up of two lines of cast iron pillars, separated approximately 5 m, which make up the framework of the lateral façades. Traditional riveted Polonceau-type metal trusses are placed transversally and underpinned by the pillars. On these beams purlins with a 5 meters span and a lattice of wooden beams are arranged supporting a fibercement roof. Four underground floors are built in the remodeling project, the first is destined to commercial and the rest to different uses: parking, merchandise entrance and storage space. Location: El Raval, Barcelona Cross floor-plan surface area: 5.351 m2 Site surface area: 11.351 m2 Client: Ravetllat i Ribas SLP

Project presented to tender for the Camp Now Stadium enlargement, developed in collaboration with Martinez Lapeña & Elias Torres architectural studio. In order to achieve the urban transformation that has to be developed as well as to generate the required resources, the enlargement is not seen as an end but as the means to achieve the former objectives. The stadium design creates a balance between both public and urban spaces. Conceptually, the project consists of an underground pedestal where the functional spaces that serve as foundation for the new stands and metal ribs that cover the stadium. The metal ribs will function as skin, cover and facade for the stadium An atrium formed by 80 inclined columns is generated by the “umbraculum” structure with the rib succession giving an angle shape. The deconstruction and construction processes of the third terrace area and its cover was designed foreseen the continuity of the football competition while the construction takes place.

CAMP NOU FOOTBALL STADIUM IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT TENDER Barcelona 2007
The solution proposed to solve the continuity of the urban fabric consists of creating a big park on the slope which will be used as support of all the communication elements among the different points of the area, enabling the pedestrian mobility by means of the construction of roads, walkways, ramps and stairs. The proposal would allow accessibility among different streets without architectural barriers and combine the solution with a complementary access to the three levels of the underground car park located under the Avenida del Ferrocarril. This project develops the connexion solution between Padura Street and Ferrocarril Avenue through the construction of a vertical communication structure compossed of two lifts for independent use of the car park and pedestrians and connected at Padura Street through a pedestrian walkway of three metres wide. The structure is located on the space reserved to a car park emergency exit, leaning on the concrete walls which forms the shaft. It was necessary to make both lifts independent by means of the construction of two concrete towers, separated by the distance of the footbridge, which will also be the support for it. The low tower, of 14 m high, includes the connexion lift between Padura and the car park. The highest one, of 22 m, stands out in Padura as the unique element of connection between the highest part of Irala and Ametzola area. Both towers, the walkway and the car park exit building, form a single element made of concrete and coloured glass, located at a strategic spot at the end of the avenue and with the future Irala park as backdrop.

LIFTS TOWERS AND WALKWAYS IN AMETZOLA CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE SITE WORKS MANAGEMENT Bilbao. 2006-2007
Both towers, the footbridge and the exit structure framework of the car park are a unique element made of concrete and coloured glass, strategically located at the end of the avenue, and with the future Irala park as a backdrop.
Located in the historic downtown of Alcalá next to the future buildings of the Courthouse and the Tourism Parador. The parking garage is characterized by its spatial diaphanous quality, enabled by the choice of a large-span structure typology that distinguish the inside space, turning it into a large area, lit with natural light, and that enable optimizing functionality. The garage consists of two floors below ground level, with a surface area of 66.50 by 63.40 m and a 2.60 m clearance height between floors. It provides over 300 2.60x5.00 m parking spaces for rotational use. A one-way road design allows the arrangement of the traffic, providing an adequate functionality and safety. Circular skylights, each 7.80 m, are located along the axis of the roads of level -1 providing natural light to the inside. This same diagram is repeated in level -2, aided by artificial lighting. The access/exit of vehicles takes place through a wide two-way ramp perpendicular to Santo Tomás de Aquino Street. The ramp is open to the outside on both floors, providing natural lighting and ventilation to the inside of the parking, and allowing a visual relation with the exterior. The ramp, converted in to a one-way, continues to level -2. The exit takes place through a wide circular ramp. The position of the ramps has been designed in a way that allows the greatest degree of functional independence between both floors, avoiding unnecessary traffic. This improves and facilitates the use of the parking. Three pedestrian accesses, located in unique spots of the square and the parking garage, have been designed. Skylights are incorporated, thus allowing oneself to find one’s way easily from any point in the inside, thanks to the abundance of natural light.

LA PALOMA SQUARE UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND SITE WORKS MANAGEMENT Alcalá de Henares, Madrid. 2006-2007
The underground parking in the Eucaliptus square, in the Torre Baró neighborhood, is located in a very important block within the neighborhood, since we can find nearby a health centre, a library, a metro station and a regional train station. The narrowness of the plot provides a great complexity to the building. The parking is going to be carried out at the same time than the adjacent one, although they both have an autonomous operation. Both share, nevertheless, the road accesses and the double direction only ramp. That optimizes the use in floors of the limited plot. The car park consists of three floors in total. It has 171 standard parking spaces, five for disabled and ten for motorcycles.

UNDERGROUND CAR PARK IN LOS EUCALIPTOS SQUARE, TORRE BARÓ NEIGHBOURHOOD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT Barcelona. 2008-2010
The parking is strategically located in the cultural activity center of the city of Bilbao, next to the Guggenheim and the Arts museums, Deusto University and its new library, and the new auditorium of the Basque Country University (UPV). Located as well next to the tower of Iberdrola, which will be inaugurated in 2011, and will be the biggest building of Euskadi, mainly full of offices. Geometrically speaking, the parking has a semicircular plant under the city square with an extended “arm” heading the Ria under the new street Ramon Rubial. There are 4 levels of 2.6 m of free height between forgings. It contains almost 800 parking places, of 2.5x5 m, of which 400 are accessible for any user (levels -1 and -2) and the rest for residents of surrounding neighborhood areas(levels -3 and -4). A design of vials with just one direction, of 5.5m width, allows a fluent and well-arranged circulation of vehicles, with an adequate functionality and security. The accesses for vehicles will be performed through the R. Rubial street at the levels n-1 (entrance) and n-2 and a third gate is foreseen (n-3) for residents under the Deusto Bridge. Due to the location in singular points, Mazarredo, Deusto bridge and R. Rubial, all three pedestrian accesses are adapted to the final shape of the square that is to be constructed, integrating in the design of it the ventilation exits of the parking through sculpture elements. The construction of the structure has been done along side with the urbanization projects of the square itself, the R. Rubial street and the surrounding buildings. •Photomontage of the aerial photograph of the area and the project plan. •Perspectives of the parking: pedestrian access and view of the levels 2, 3 and 4. •General parking plan and long section.
